It happened on a Saturday afternoon in the spring and it happened in the safety of Kame’s own apartment. Outside the rain was pouring down and it had made Kame stay in bed all day on his day off instead of getting up and doing something useful. He would have stayed in bed longer if it wasn’t for the decision made by the god above to send someone knocking on Kame’s door and making today the day it happened.
Kame had tried to ignore the knockings but the person on the other side was really persistent and with a grunt Kame got out from under the warm blanket. He threw on a pair of boxers and a worn out T-shirt before he made his way to the door. He took a peek through the peep-hole before he opened and when he saw who it was on the other side he froze for a second. The he took a deep breath and opened the door carefully.
“Yo!” Yamapi smiled brightly at him and beside him was a Jin with a just as bright smile and a Ryo who looked rather bored.
“What are you doing here?” Kame asked giving them a weak smile back.
“We’re here to see if you’d like to join us for a late lunch out” Jin replied as he made his way into the apartment and almost pushing Kame into the door. Yamapi and Ryo followed Jin inside and Kame closed the door behind them.
“We thought that you might need some fattening now that you’ve finished your filming and finally will have some time over to eat properly” Yamapi explained further as he kicked of his shoes.
“You should’ve called instead” Kame said throwing a cautious look towards his closed bedroom door. “Because this really isn’t the best of times for you visiting”
“Why? Are you having someone over, someone that’s perhaps is laying in your bed?” Ryo smirked as his eyes followed Kame’s gaze.
“Ah, yeah…” Kame answered truthfully because he had never been able lie to his best friends face to face. He felt his face heat up as he avoided meeting anyone’s eyes.
“What? Really?” Jin and Yamapi shrieked in chorus.
“Yeah,” Kame answered and hoped that the one sleeping in his bed hadn’t woken up by the shriek.
“Is he hot?” Jin inquired to know looking at Kame with curiosity written all over his face. “Can I sneak a peek on him? I’ve always wondered what kind of guys you’d go for”
“Of course you can’t take a peek! Are you nuts?” Kame replied his voice coming out slightly panicked.
“But come on Kazu! Please?” Jin pleaded but Kame had learned long ago how to not fall for his pleas.
“No!” Kame said firmly as he crossed his arms over his chest and glared at Jin.
“So, anyway where did you meet him?” Yamapi asked as he made his way into Kame’s kitchen and the other’s followed him.
“At work” Kame replied as he walked over to the refrigerator and closed its door that Yamapi had opened just a second ago.
“Work?” Jin raised an eyebrow at Kame as he joined Ryo by the kitchen table “Was he one of the staff members at the set? Was he like one of those macho technician guys or something?”
“No, absolutely not” Kame chuckled. “Definitely not the way I would describe him”
“So how would you describe him?” Ryo asked but still tried to look as if he really didn’t care a shit about Kame’s bed mate. Kame was just about to reply when a fifth voice called out his name from a different part in the apartment.
“Kazu-chan?” the voiced called again and everyone’s head snapped in the direction of which the voice was coming from.
“I’m in the kitchen!” Kame called back and they all heard how the person made his way to them.
“Why did you leave me alone? Why didn’t you-” Tegoshi appeared in the doorway only clad in a pair of blue boxer shorts. He stopped talking once he noticed that he and Kame obviously weren’t alone.
“Tegoshi?!” Yamapi, Jin and Ryo shrieked in shock and stared at him with big eyes.
“You two are dating?” Ryo then asked, being the one who was fastest to recover from the big surprise.
“Uh, yeah” Kame replied as he made his way over to Tegoshi and put an arm around his waist.
“But… how… wha… since when?” Jin stuttered eyes still wide as teacups as he stared at the couple.
“How long has it been now?” Tegoshi pondered as he turned to face Kame. “Almost two months, right?”
Kame only nodded in reply.
“But I didn’t even know that you Tego were gay!” Yamapi exclaimed. “Neither you or anybody else has told me about that.”
“Maybe that’s because I’ve never really told anyone.” Tegoshi shrugged. “I just figured that people would figure it out by themselves”
“This is actually really disturbing” Ryo commented and everyone turned to stare at him. “I mean this just the thought of the two of you is really disturbing. The two most girly guys in the agency being together, it’s almost like some kind of twisted lesbian thing only you’re not actually girls. How do you even decide who’s doing what during sex?”
“We actually-” Tegoshi made an attempt to answer but was cut off by Ryo.
“Actually, I really don’t think I wanna know” Ryo pulled a face of disgust and held up his hands as if shielding himself. “Come on guys, let’s go and leave those two alone” he then said as he turned towards Jin and Yamapi.
“But…” Jin tried to protest clearly not feeling up to go just yet. Kame figured he’d probably wanted to know more about this whole thing.
“I said let’s go!” Ryo glared at Jin who immediately obeyed and both Yamapi and he followed Ryo out from the kitchen. Kame and Tegoshi turned to follow as well to bid the others goodbye.
“That wasn’t exactly the way I had planned on breaking the news about our relationship to them” Kame commented as soon as he and Tegoshi was alone again.
“No, but at least we don’t need to worry about breaking it to anybody else now” Tegoshi smiled.
“What do you mean?” Kame asked raising an eyebrow at the other.
“You if anybody should know how much of a gossip-monger both Yamapi and Ryo-tan is. I bet that within a couple of hours we will get tons of calls and messages asking us if it is true.”
“You’re probably right” Kame chuckled slightly. “So, while we wait for that what do you suggest we do?”
“I can think of a few things” Tegoshi grinned as he took a hold of Kame’s hands and lead him back towards the bedroom.
