Jin was sitting by one of the tables in the nightclub with a cold glass of beer in his hand while talking to Ryo when his phone started ringing. It was a miracle he actually heard it since the music was blasting loud in the background. Jin frowned slightly when he saw the caller id and wondered why he would be calling this late.
“Hello” he said getting up from the table giving Ryo an apologetic smile and then started to search for calmer place to talk.
“What do you want Kazu?” he pushed his way through the crowds of people and towards the toilets hoping to find it more silent than the rest of the nightclub. “Huh? Tegoshi-kun? Why are you calling me on Kazu’s phone?” Jin frowned clenching his phone firmly against his ear to be able to hear better. “You need me to come where? Why?” Jin had finally reached the bathroom but it wasn’t much calmer there. “Oh, okay I’ll be there right away” Jin sighed closing his eyes for a second. “Bye”
“I have to go” Jin said as he returned to the table. “Please let Pi and the rest know that I’m sorry and that’ll make it up to you all another time, okay?”
“Sure” Ryo smirked.” You’re going to pick up Kamenashi somewhere aren’t you?”
“Yeah, seem like he’s had a little bit too much.” Jin said picking up his jacket from the couch. “He was celebrating the premier of his new drama with the rest of the actors and the crew”
“Good to hear he still finds time to loosen up a little” Ryo commented. “It was a while since the last time you got a call like that.”
“Yeah, I guess” Jin shrugged but gave his friend a small smile. “Oh well, see you another time. Bye”
Jin parked his car outside of the karaoke place that Tegoshi had told him they were at. It was just pure luck that he had decided to take the car and not get drunk that night when he was out clubbing. Or maybe not pure luck since he actually had thought about all the work he had the next day what with his movie hitting the theatres tomorrow. He locked the car and then went into the building. Tegoshi had given him the number of the room they were occupying and he found it pretty quickly. There was loud music, bad singing and laughter coming from the room. They probably wouldn’t have heard him if he knocked so he just walked straight into the room.
“Akanishi-kun” Tegoshi’s voice cut through the noises as he entered the room. Jin quickly turned his head in the direction of the voice and saw Kame leaning against Tegoshi with his arms draped around the other’s neck. Even though he didn’t like Tegoshi that much he couldn’t help but smile at the sight. Kame was sort of known for becoming overly affectionate and touchy-feely when he was drunk. He strutted over to them nodding in acknowledgment to everyone in the room as he did so.
“Thanks for coming” Tegoshi smiled as he started to slowly untangle himself from Kame. “I didn’t know who to call except for you. I really hope I didn’t ruin your night”
“No it’s okay” Jin said kneeling down in front of Kame who was slowly opening his eyes.
“Jin? What are you doing here?” Kame asked sounding slightly confused while reaching out a hand to softly touch Jin’s hair.
“I’m here to pick you up” Jin smiled placing his hand on top of Kame’s. The others fingers had started to entangle themselves in Jin’s soft locks. “Do you need help walking or can you walk by yourself?”
“I think I can walk by myself” Kame mumbled as he locked his dazed eyes with Jin’s.
“Okay, then let’s go” Jin smiled and slowly started to untangle Kame’s fingers. Kame nodded and when his fingers were untangled Jin stood up and reached out a hand for Kame to grab.
“Thanks” Kame said taking the hand offered to him and let himself being pulled up. He managed to stand up straight for about a second before his legs started to wobble slightly. Jin was quick to support him by wrapping an arm around the waist.
“I think it’s safer if I help you” Jin said letting his free hand brush some strands of hair from Kame’s face.
“Probably” Kame said leaning his head against Jin’s shoulder.
“Thanks for taking care of Kazu and calling me” Jin said turning to face Tegoshi again.
“No problems Akanishi-kun.” Tegoshi replied with a small smile as he handed Jin Kame’s bag. “Bye Kame-kun. See you at work tomorrow afternoon”
“Bye Tego-kun” Kame replied his words almost incoherent and then Jin started to make their way out from the room.
“I’m so so so sorry for making you come and pick me up” Kame said as Jin seated him in the passenger seat of his car. “I didn’t mean to get like this but I had so much fun and everyone was so nice”
“You don’t need to apologize” Jin said helping Kame to fasten the seatbelt. “I rather see someone calling for me than you getting home by yourself in a taxi”
“But I probably ruined your night” Kame sulked. “I bet you were out with your troop having a great time”
“I wasn’t” Jin lied not wanting Kame to feel bad. “I was home alone watching TV”
“Really?” Kame asked looking at him with suspicion as Jin sat down in the driver’s seat. “On a Friday night?”
“Yeah” Jin said as he started the car and prayed to higher powers that Kame wouldn’t be able to see through his lies. “I have work tomorrow so I decided to have a tranquil night at home.”
“Oh, okay” Kame said turning to look out the window instead. He leaned his head against the cold surface and soon he seemed to have fallen asleep. Jin threw a glance at the sleeping Kame every now and then as he drove towards the other’s apartment.
“I want strawberry juice” Kame’s voice suddenly cut through the silent car.
“What did you say Kazu?” Jin asked slightly startled by Kame suddenly waking up. They were only a block from his apartment now.
“I want strawberry juice” Kame said looking over at Jin with pleading, drunken eyes. “But I don’t have any at home. Can you buy me some?”
“Do you really want it that badly?” Jin asked glancing over at the other.
“Yeah” Kame nodded and with a soft sighed Jin pulled up in front of a convenience store on one of the neighbouring streets to Kame’s.
“Okay, wait here” Jin said parking the car. “I’ll be right back”
“You’re the best” Kame smiled at him and with that Jin made his way towards the store.
Since it was almost 2am there wasn’t much people in the store and as he was quite familiar with just that store he quickly managed to find the desired juice. He had been in this store quite a few times with Kame in the past doing some late night shopping after a long day at work. The young woman at the counter smiled at him in recognition as he paid for the juice and then he left the store.
“Here’s your juice” Jin said getting back into the car and handed Kame the bottle of juice.
“Thanks Jin” Kame smiled taking the bottle with both his hands.
“No problems” Jin replied as he started up the car again. He heard how Kame opened the bottle and then started to gulp some of the red juice down.
“So, how are you feeling?” Jin asked a moment later glancing over at Kame.
“A bit dizzy and tired” Kame replied. “It was good you came for me”
“Yeah, probably” Jin nodded as he had made it to Kame’s street.
“I had fun though” Kame sighed sounding contented. “I really haven’t been out like that in a while”
“I’m happy” Jin nodded again and then pulled his car into an empty parking space in front of Kame’s apartment complex.
Kame didn’t need much of Jin’s help to get up to his apartment but Jin insisted on supporting Kame with an arm around the other’s waist. He didn’t let go of Kame’s waist until they stepped into Kame’s neat apartment. Jin closed the door behind him and took a deep breath. There was something about the smell of Kame’s apartment that always made him feel happy and at ease.
“You want some juice?” Kame suddenly asked holding out the now almost empty juice bottle in front of Jin.
“No thanks” Jin smiled at Kame. “I should go now”
“You’re not going to stay?” Kame asked with a slight pout looking down at his feet.
“You want me to stay?” Jin asked but wasn’t really that surprised by the question.
“You always stay over” Kame said raising his eyes to meet Jin’s. “You always stay over”
“I always stay over” Jin nodded with a soft smile and then kneeled down on the floor to take of his shoes. “I always stay” he repeated to himself. He looked back up when he heard Kame walking in the direction of the bedroom. He smiled again putting his shoes to stand nicely next to Kame’s shoes before he walked the familiar way through Kame’s apartment.
When he entered the room Kame, already stripped down to a T-shirt and a pair of boxers, was crawling in under the bed covers. The only light in the room was the one it coming from the outside the window. Jin smiled at the younger one before he himself started to undress, starting with his shirt before proceeding to his jeans and last but not least his socks. When he was done he crawled into the bed and wrapped one of his arms around Kame’s waist from behind. He pulled the smaller frame in closer to his body and nuzzled his face into the others hair.
“Good night” Kame whispered placing a hand on top of Jin’s hand resting on his stomach.
“Good night Kazu” Jin replied planting a small kiss in Kame’s hair before he closed his eyes and fell into a deep slumber.
