A/N: This started out with the thought of this story only being about Akame friendship but that idea fell apart quickly… I wrote this out of boredom on the train, where a lot of my drabbles and one-shots are born^^ Anyway hope you’ll enjoy this silly little one-shot ^^
Jin plopped himself down on the couch in his living room. He was so tired; it felt like he hadn’t slept for days. His hectic job schedule the last few weeks, what with all the photo shots and the movie promotions, was wearing him out. He heaved a big sigh as he closed his eyes. A good sleep was just what he needed now but he didn’t manage to get all the way to dreamland before he was dragged out of it. The doorbell was ringing. He growled in annoyance but made no move to go and see who it was. He tried to ignore it but it rang again, and again. He had almost decided to go and open the door when he heard the sound of the lock being unlocked. The front door opened, and Jin heard how the visitor took off his shoes. A moment later Kame appeared in the doorway to the living room with a plastic bag in his hand.
“Oh, so you are awake” Kame said seemingly surprised to see Jin. “I thought you were sleeping”
“If you thought that, then why did you decide to get inside?” Jin asked a bit bewildered and scratched the back of his head.
“To put this in your fridge” Kame said and held up the plastic bag a bit higher. “I had planned on making you dinner”
“Why?” Jin asked seriously surprised and sat up a bit straighter.
“Cause I thought you’d might need some spoiling” Kame smiled. “You’ve been really busy lately, more than usual, and I just thought I would be a good friend and-“
“Sounds more like something a girlfriend would do” Jin commented “But I’m grateful, you’re more than welcome to make me some dinner”
“Okay” Kame smiled “So, do you wanna take a bath before dinner? I can run you a bath”
“You really do act like a girlfriend” Jin smirked.
“Shut up” Kame blushed slightly but quickly composed himself “So, bath or not?”
“Yes please” Jin said stretching his arms above his head. Kame just gave him a single nod before he twirled around gracefully and disappeared to the bathroom. Jin smiled for himself as he heard how the water started running in the bathroom. He had not expected this but if there were anyone, except from his mum, that would do something like this for him it would be Kame. Not cause they were best friends, because they weren’t that anymore even though they still was very close. No, it would be Kame because he was the one person around Jin who cared the most about others. He would be the one first to notice if someone wasn’t feeling well, and he would help you out with whatever you needed help with anyway he could.
“The bath is ready” Kame reappeared. “I put some bubble bath and bath oil in the water. It should help you relax”
“Bubbles and bath oil? I had no idea I possessed girly things like that” Jin said slightly confused as he heaved himself up from the couch.
“You didn’t” Kame smiled. “I bought some for you. And it’s not girly. It’s relaxing and enjoyable”
“Whatever” Jin smirked as he passed Kame in the doorway.
“I’ll have dinner ready for you when you get out” Kame said and Jin turned around to face him just before he entered the bathroom.
“Thanks”
The bathroom smelled like strawberries, like Kame. It was the smell that always lingered in Kame’s apartment. The smell that always lingered in the air around Kame, this smell mixed with that perfume that Kame had worn since he was 16. Jin took a deep breath, the smell itself helped him relax. He took another big breath as he slowly started to undress his stiff and tired body. When he was completely undressed he sank into the hot water and heaved a big content sigh. It felt like he was in heaven. Every muscle in his body relaxed more and more for every passing second. He hadn’t felt this relaxed in a long time and he closed his eyes slowly drifting off into a world of dreams.
“Jin?” Kame’s voice rang through the door and woke Jin up with a slight startle. “Are you okay Jin? You haven’t fallen asleep have you?”
“I…” Jin started shaking his head to wake up quicker. “I’m fine, Kame. I’ll be out in a moment”
The water surrounding his body had turned lukewarm, it didn’t feel as nice anymore, and all the bubbles had disappeared. He must’ve been in there for quite some time, no wonder Kame sounded worried.
“Good, cause dinner’s been ready for some time now” Kame replied and Jin heard how the other walked away from the door. Jin quickly stepped out from the bathtub and grabbed a fluffy white towel to dry himself with. He felt so good, he could totally understand why Kame loved his baths like that but that was nothing he would ever tell the other. When he was dry enough he exchanged the towel for his bathrobe and wrapped it firmly around his body.
“Feeling relaxed and refreshed?” Kame asked as Jin joined him in the kitchen.
“Very much so” Jin smiled “Thanks”
“No need to thank me” Kame said. “Now sit down and eat. I made some curry”
Jin did as he was told and slumped down on one of the chairs as Kame placed a plate filled with rice and curry in front of him. It smelled delicious. He had really been quite some time since the last time Kame had made him curry.
“Itadakimasu” Jin cheered and then quickly dug in on the food. “Delicious!” he then added after the first spoon of food. “This is so good. Like amazingly good. Please marry me and make me this every day” he continued to eat with a big enthusiasm.
“You’re exaggerating” Kame blushed slightly as he sat down at the table across from Jin with his own plate of food.
“No seriously” Jin said his mouth filled with food. “This is the best. And you would really be an amazing wife. You have the right qualities; great cook, kind of a neat freak and you’re caring”
“Good for me then” Kame mused “That I aren’t a girl or I would have guys like you stalking and proposing to me all the time”
“What do you mean guys like me?” Jin said a bit offended. “I’ll have you know I’m a great boyfriend”
“Then how come you haven’t had any real long-term relationships?” Kame asked and arched his eyebrows.
“Uh, that’s…” Jin started but paused to think for a moment. “That’s cause I haven’t found anyone as good as you. You’re better than all the girls I’ve ever dated. Being friends with you makes me picky and hard to please”
“So you mean I’m the one responsible for your failed love life?” Kame snickered. “I don’t know if I should take that as an compliment or an insult”
“It’s a compliment of course” Jin said finishing his food. “I like you more than any girl I’ve ever met”
“You like me?” Kame was so shocked he dropped his spoon down unto his plate.
“Uh…” Jin seemed just as shocked when realization drew upon him about what he had just said. “I… Yeah… I guess. Maybe? Is that bad?” he looked down at his now empty plate.
“No…” Kame hesitated “I don’t think so… I mean… I guess I kind of like you that way too. I think”
“You do?” Jin said and looked back up to meet Kame’s eyes.
“Yeah” Kame smiled softly.
“Is that why you came over here and acted all girlfriendly?” Jin asked copying the smile as he reached out his left hand to grab a hold of Kame’s right one which was lying on the table.
“Unconsciously maybe” Kame said looking at their hands. “I didn’t think what I was doing could be considered girlfriendly though. I just thought I was acting as a good friend”
“A friend would’ve ordered take out and suggest you’d take a shower” Jin smirked. “Well that’s what Pi would’ve done anyways”
Kame didn’t reply but a small blush sneaked up on his cheeks. He looked absolutely adorable. Jin smiled and got up from the table still holding Kames hand. He walked around the table and wrapped his arms around Kame from behind and their hands ended up on Kame’s chest just where his heart was beating faster. Jin could feel the heart beat softly and he nuzzled his face into Kame’s hair. It smelt like strawberries and Kame.
“Thanks for the dinner” Jin said into the hair. “It really was delicious”
Kame turned his head slightly and gave Jin a soft kiss on the tip of his nose. “You’re welcome” he smiled “You should get to bed now and have a good night’s sleep. I’ll do the dishes before I leave”
“You’re leaving?” Jin asked a bit disappointed.
“Yeah, if you don’t want me to stay but you don’t have a guest room” Kame said.
“You’ll sleep in my bed of course” Jin said hugging Kame just a little bit tighter.
“But…” Kame started a bit taken aback by Jin’s statement.
“No buts” Jin said “And don’t you worry I won’t do anything. After all we haven’t even had our first kiss and I am a gentleman”
“Okay then” Kame smiled. “I’ll sleep in the same bed as you”
“Good” Jin said freeing Kame from his embrace.
“Now off to bed with you” Kame said getting up from his chair and started to collect the dishes. “I’ll come and join you as soon as I’ve finished the dishes”
Jin smiled and then leaned in giving Kame a soft kiss on the cheek startling the other slightly but he received another soft smile from the younger one.
Jin had almost fallen asleep half an hour later when he heard how the door to his bedroom open and Kame walked in. He didn’t open his eyes but he smiled for himself as he heard how Kame started to undress himself. The only noises in the room were the rustling noises coming from all the accessories and the zipper of Kame’s jeans. A moment later Jin felt the duvet being lifted carefully and Kame slipping into the bed. Jin reached out his arm and wrapped it around Kame’s waist pulling him in closer.
“I thought you were sleeping” Kame whispered surprised but slowly got comfortable with Jin’s chest pressed against his back.
“I wasn’t but I will be soon” Jin took a deep breath inhaling Kame’s scent. “Good night”
“Good night” Kame whispered back and soon they both was sleeping peacefully.
