Completely Useless
I was at the mall this evening (which, aside from sore toes due to a poor footwear selection, was very enjoyable as I was with excellent company) when I discovered something that struck me as being ENTIRELY useless. It was one of those little kiosks located in the center areas, and it was called Perfect Petzzz. The only thing they sold were these stuffed puppies, curled up as if sleeping, and appear to breathe. That's it. They have batteries in them that make their sides move up and down as if they are breathing. Oh, they also come with a little fake-breathing-puppy doggie bed, a cardboard pet carrying-case, and adoption papers (*boggle*). For a nice little sum of $39.95.
I realize people will spend money on all sorts of crap, but still...I was somewhat appalled.
I suppose if there is one lasting effect of having been to Africa, it is less patience with useless crap, especially expensive useless crap (subjective category though it be).
