Sewing again

Finally finished hemming Tina's under dress last night. Cut out the skirt and most of the bodice for the over dress today. I got the skirt sewn together . . . I think. There are extensions for both the front and the back. The back extensions just don't seem right, although I followed the directions and diagrams carefully. Oh well. It actually seems a bit long anyway, as I recall the under dress did. So hope to get the bodice sewn together if not attached tomorrow. I need to find the right trims. Embroidered or beaded or both for the neckline. Some sort of cord for lacing the sides. I will be in San Francisco this weekend-I may look while I'm there.
We are taking a family vacation-just a 3-day weekend. (Although, we may also take Rowan out of school on Friday as there is snow forecast for the afternoon and I would rather not spend 5 hours trying to get over the summit in a snow storm.) We will see friends in the city and go to the King Tut exhibit at the DeYoung I am very excited. So is Rowan. He has complained every time Logan got to go on vacation. It doesn't seem to matter to a 7 year old that we don't go on vacations because mommy is out of work and we don't get vacations from not working. Oh well. We decided to use some of the money we had been saving for the wedding because we all need to get away together for a few days. Nothing like staying in a hotel for creating that sense of family togetherness. lol
Maybe I'll post some pictures of the dresses as I finish them. If I remember to post anything at all that is. Apparently it has been 13 weeks since I posted.
