Words Flowing Like Endless Rain

Today's Awesomeness:

Sleeping with your book

I don't mean a love affair with your book (even though I'm not against it). I'm suggesting you to fall asleep reading a book, but make sure you save your page and close the book before you actually succumb to slumber.

It saddens me to see that not enough people read. I always believed that whenever a person confides me in that they do not enjoy reading, it is only because they have not yet found the right kind of books for them. Public schools does that to you. They force lame books such as "Bless Me, Ultima" and "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" down the poor students' throats.

Reading is therapeutic, an exodus. You escape your own life through the words on the pages. My dream is to provide that outlet to millions. I want to write.

Late at nights, I lay in bed with whatever book I'm currently reading. After reading a couple of chapters, I'll put the book down beside me on my pillow and sleep with it. Books can be your lover. You know that your copy of "Geek Love" is not going to get up and walk out on you. You can wake up in the middle of the night, see your book, think of the story, and it'll help you fall back to sleep, and affect your dreams.

Try it. Don't put your books away in a drawer of your nightstand. Do not put it back on the bookshelf. Cradle it. It'll take you to places.
