For some reason, it made me sad for Dean to stop being an angel. I think he'd be pretty damn beautiful, and I'd be willing to worship him. But, it would suck for him to live forever without Sammy.

Wow. I didn't think this was crack at all. On the contrary, it was incredibly touching and beautiful and written with such an evocative language. Definitely one of my favourite fics I've read in this fandom (and I've read quite a lot!)

Only the second wing-fic I've read - and I enjoyed it very much. Loved the descriptions of Dean as an angel - he's certainly beautiful enough.

Sad end - but absolutely spot-on Dean. He'll even give up immortality for Sam.

Just letting you know - some of your beta reader stuff is still in the text:

They were a cult of crazy [comma] stupid religious fanatics who stumbled across the wrong dagger.

The knife was everything. He feels it reaching out to him, caressing his mind softly.[comma] Telling him, yes, he’s the one who can hold it, and make it work. Without his power, or power like it, they were all doomed the moment the [they] picked up the dagger. With the knife and Sam, they could be so high, high above their mortal flesh.
