I think the people who did the music for Lady and the Tramp did the music for 101 Dalmatians: one of my favorite-of-all-time-movies. There are the same key progressions in Lady and the Tramp as there are in 101 Dalmatians. It makes me want to sing songs & recite lines.
I'm at Leslie & Tobias' apartment in Amsterdam, we're watching Lady & the Tramp because everything else was too heavy. They're renting a flat from another couple for a month while they try to find a house. All the movies in the other couple's collection are deep, depressing, heavy plot lines. Far too much for a group of people who just want to relax. We don't need to get any sob time in, just yet.
I took the train from Paris to Amsterdam today. I did myself a favor & bought a first class ticket on the train. The seats were amazingly plush, there had the ability to recline & I was completely solitary for the extent of the street. Thank goodness for Thalay's attendants who constantly kept my coffee cup refilled.
It was nice being able to see the countries by train: France, Belgium and Netherlands. Granted, the train stations are always tucked along the more unimpressive areas of the town, but it was still beautiful. I took a lot of photos & videos from my phone.
When I got off the train, the man in front of me asked if my Chrome bag was from SF. He lives in the Haight. What are the chances?
I couldn't access my internet or phone, so finding Leslie & Tob was a bit difficult. But in the end, they found me, situated right outside the train station where they told me to stay.
Today has been uneventful really- but lovely & relaxing & much needed. Leslie, Tob and I talked quite a bit about life, love, and potentially, the pursuit of happiness. I feel better. Even more connected from before.
Tomorrow is Google Amsterdam. Can't wait.
