True love

My bookmarks folder is getting too big. Also I'm procrastinating. So, some Korra/AtLA fanfic:

After by sistem: Azula, post-canon. A sharp, achey look at Azula's life in confinement.

Lessons by Sheblet, Lin & Toph, spoilers for 1.10:

I don't have words for how invested I am in their mother-daughter relationship.

'When she goes to meetings she displays it proudly to the councilmen, declaring "My kid made this. Bent it out of a damn coin. She's a chip straight off the ol' block, that Lin."' 5 lessons Lin's mother taught her

Stirring by sqbr: In which Lin is a terrible patient.

Origin Story by psocoptera, spoilers for 1.10: They dump Lin in front of headquarters, at her mother's feet.

Black Sun by LizBee, spoilers for 1.10:

"Well," said Lin at last, "I've come before the council, I'm in my underwear, and I can't bend. Why don't the nice dreams ever come true?"

Councilwoman Miyabi burst into tears.

Lin after the events of 1.10. Perfect Lin voice.

ashes to ashes by kaberett, Korra/Lin, spoilers for 1.10: A possible look at Lin and Korra after the events of 1.10. Gorgeous.

By the Lies Handed Down by lightningwalt, Asami and Hiroshi Sato: A lovely, lovely look at Asami and what makes her work.

The Woman Chained (She Who Thinks of Bravery) by cupid-painted-blind, spoilers for 1.10: Another great character study of Lin, before and after 1.10.

To Quoquo by saintabraxas, Azula and Lin (Azula/Toph): Azula/Toph is a pairing that is slowly beginning to grow on me, and stories like this make it irresistible. I love the idea of a grown-up!Azula who is healed and trying to be a better person but is also Azula.

Cliff Chiang is a life-ruiner. He ruins lives. The fill-ins in Wonder Woman #10 were decent enough, but I can no longer be satisfied by anything less than his Diana.

This was a great issue. I've maintained this for a long time - and the main reason why I'm still with this book, regardless of my issues with the Amazons (which bothers me even more than the origin shift) - Azz's Diana is a bight shining light in the world around her, and that's what I love best about Wonder Woman in any avatar. I'm glad he gets that. Diana is radiant, and anyone who does not get that has no business writing Wonder Woman.

The line, 'Meet an Amazon' (bad pun, Diana - it seems she's inherited that from her father's family), gave me hope that perhaps there's more to the Amazon story - she still identifies as an Amazon after all, and surely someone like Diana could not have emerged from a society as bleak as I've been envisioning the Amazon nation to be ever since #7. Right? Right???

The last move with Hades: aw. Classic Diana. I love her. <33

Also you know who else loves Diana? STRIFE. She's the best.

It's time, however, that Azz brought more of the female gods - or Etta, or Cassie, or Donna, or Artemis - into the fold, because the gender imbalance is annoying me very much. It was especially telling in this issue, since Zola wasn't around. I'm not asking for an all-female cast, but is it too much to ask for more women in a Wonder Woman book? Lennox is growing on me, though. And Hermes, he should stay.

Right, I'll try and work now.
