This entry smells of chicken soup.

  • I came down with something over the course of this weekend, and so I am staying in this week mostly. The sniffling and coughing was a little less obnoxious today, though still quite present. Hopefully it will be gone by the weekend.
  • On the other hand, my illness did give me the opportunity to finish up the mastering, artwork and liner notes for my new compilation The Hunt. I'm not going to make any pronouncements about what the next CD I produce will be, although I suspect it will be my Back To the Future mix, because I have tended to speculate often about mixes that never come to fruition. I'm still kind of working on the James Horner horror mix, but it always ends up sounding a bit too homogeneous (yes, I know… it's Horner), making no strong case to listen to my assembly over just throwing on Something Wicked This Way Comes instead. I'm going to play with it a bit more before abandoning the idea, but it doesn't look promising. Nevertheless, I am quite excited about making my first ever Alan Silvestri compilation, and I do have a few other interesting ideas that may bear fruit in the weeks to come.
  • This was on Fark with the legend, "In space, no one can hear you stream." I'm certainly happy I wasn't part of the shift on the space station when the malfunction was tast… er… noticed.
  • Stolen from icanhaschzbrgr was this Failbook preview:

  • I thought the Cracked! list of seven books we lost to history that would have changed the world was pretty cool as well as their list of six historic villains you didn't know had incredible careers.

mix workshop, film music, james horner, alan silvestri, movie funnies, star wars
