There is now more music on my iPod than I've had capacity for in the past. Just for shits and giggles...

682 albums at 60 gigs...

The most prominent artists (i.e. 6 or more albums)

    Film Composers:
  • John Barry - 10
  • Marco Beltrami - 7
  • Elmer Bernstein - 18
  • Bruce Broughton - 8+2 Compilations
  • Bill Conti - 8 (though to be fair, four of them are Karate Kid scores)
  • Patrick Doyle - 11
  • George Fenton - 6
  • Elliot Goldenthal - 7
  • Jerry Goldsmith - 42+3 Compilations (though 3 of the 42 are cases where both the album and the score are on the iPod)
  • Bernard Herrmann - 12+2 Compilations (though Cape Fear is Bernstein's '91 version and Psycho is the Elfman/Bartek album)
  • James Horner - 7
  • Maurice Jarre - 7
  • Michael Kamen - 7 (eight if you count Lethal Weapon)
  • Ennio Morricone - 6
  • Thomas Newman - 8
  • Alex North - 10
  • Michael Nyman - 5+3 Other Albums
  • Basil Poledouris - 9
  • Miklós Rózsa - 6
  • Lalo Schifrin - 6
  • Howard Shore - 17 (though three are the original Lord of the Rings albums)
  • John Williams - 25+6 Compilations (though four are cases where the original album recording is also included on the iPod as well as the film score)

    Other Genres:
  • The Beatles - 10
  • Black Sabbath - 9 (that's only Ozzy stuff; the ninth is Live at Last)
  • John Coltrane - 8
  • Miles Davis - 6
  • The Doors - 9 (10 if you include An American Prayer, which is listed under "Morrison")
  • Bob Dylan - 12
  • Jimi Hendrix - 8
  • Led Zeppelin - 11
  • Bob Marley and the Wailers - 10
  • Pink Floyd - 9
  • The Police - 7
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers - 6
  • The Rolling Stones - 9
