For your enjoyment, I present the striking entrances of the leading lady from two of Alfred Hitchcock's greatest films! Hitch's alter-ego James Stewart appears in both, but he is playing very different characters and the situations are radically different. The clip from Vertigo also features an iconic cue from Herrmann's score, with nascent elements that will eventually be developed over the course of the film and culminate in the "Scene d'Amour." The piece from Rear Window double prints the kiss, giving the movement a dreamlike quality.
