It turns out the little opponent is named "Elmer" and that the whole thing was developed using Olympic rowers as models for how long and fast strokes should be, as well as Elmer's motions and speed. All this thanks to the operation manual which would have cost me another $60, if the seller hadn't looked for and found it. Great guy.

In other news, I discovered that my deadbeat asshole Brothers-in-law apparently attempted to use my Wii (putting a game disc in backwards, apparently) as well as programming my DVR to tape O'Reilly, Hannity and Colmes, and some Catholic programming. Ah, family.
