Insomnia...yay.

I leave for work in 6 hours. For a 10 hour shift. I just plain can't sleep.
Fun, huh?

Expecting to cause a few problems at work in the near future - I've been reading through the workplace agreement and found a whole bunch of stuff the managers are ignoring with relation to rostering and meal breaks. They've said they're going to fix one of the problems. I'll see how that goes. Either way, I'll be hitting them with the rest. I honestly don't care if they fire me over it (kinda hoping they do, since they're not allowed to, and it'll be fun seeing how they handle having only ONE print-trained person to roster on)

It's been a pretty bad couple of months. 6 people left during January, two temps got put on and they finished at the end and now we've got another person leaving in a week or so. If that was the cause of the roster problems I could sympathise, but that particular problem has been there since at least September, and the meal break problem has been there since I started, I just didn't know about it then because I never read the workplace agreement, silly trusting bugger that I am.

Add to that the store manager forcing someone to use their annual leave to have surgery instead of being allowed to use their sick leave, despite giving plenty of advance notice. Oh, and the store manager reportedly telling one of the team members to "grow some balls" when he asked for some help in his department and then joking and referring to him as a sook after he showed he had balls the next day by quitting. Get the feeling the store manager is at the root of the problems?

Yeah, some interesting times ahead.

In other news, laser tag's started back up. Had our first game last Monday but the other team didn't show. We ended up having a free-for-all game among our team. 30 lives each in the dark, in the bush. It was interesting.

I did my usual "hide in a shadow and watch for movement" thing, but I didn't get the first shot off in either game. I do seem to be good at moving without being noticed though, because I got right up close to one firefight and started wittling the combatants down further. I've found that having a tree between you and your target helps a lot. I got caught between them for a little while after one of them retreated and then doubled back. Trees only really give you cover from one side, unfortunately.

I also got into a grenade fight with one guy - the guns have a grenade mode, which fires a short range, wide angle blast (more like a shotgun, really) which is available even when you've run out of "bullets." Great in a pinch when someone knows you're low on ammo and you manage to trick them into thinking you've hit reload. They charge in thinking you can't fire back, you unload a grenade right at them and have another loaded before they can fire. Both me and my target were out of bullets. And then I ran out of grenades. Thankfully they DO have very limited range, and I can run fast *grin*

Next game is up after work. After a 10 hour shift I haven't slept well before. I just might miss this one.
