So I was trying to update last night and the computer decided it wanted to get a virus or something and the screen started flashing blue and windows were popping up all over and programs were locking up and streamers exploded out the back of the monitor and then fireworks started going off...ok, not really, just the locking up, blue screen blues. So I lost the lengthy post I was working on. And I was scared that I was going to have to replace my broken laptop even sooner than planned. It certainly would have sucked if both computers broke in the same week. Anyway, I haven't made a real post since I was in Memphis so I thought it was time for an update. 1 2 3 Go! (hahaha)
Well, moving went well, but I'm still getting organized and unpacked and packing things up to put in storage at mom's house. That is the one thing I don't like about this apartment, I don't have nearly enough storage space. But it's cozy and it will do until we can get a house next year. Vern says I just have too much shit, and he might be right. But I've been throwing a lot of stuff out. I threw a bunch out when I was packing to move out of the apt in Southaven and I've thrown more out since moving up here. But I have a lot of stuff that I can't use now that I know I will use when we get our house.
We had our first house guest last week. Vern's step-grandfather came to stay for the week. He was up here for business in Nashville and we hardly saw him cause we worked at night and he was gone in the morning before we got up. But it was neat having a guest. Vern's uncle Frank said he is going to come up for New Years. That will be cool. Frank seems like a nice guy and he's funny. The other night he was going on about how cool Peabo Bryson is. LOL I guess I dated myself though cause I even knew the words to the song he sent. Can't wait to meet him in person.
I've also been busy working on Xmas gifts for my friends and trying to get some pants hemmed that I bought when I went on a shopping spree at Target a couple of weeks ago. Women's clothes should be sold the same way as men's...instead of all being the same length we should be able to buy our pants based on waist and length because I always have to hem my pants at least 4-6 inches. Sometimes you can buy "short" or "petite" and those will usually be pretty close to the right length but the majority of the time pants come in one length...too damn long for me.
Have been back to work since Dec 1st. I don't have a store yet so I'm just floating for now. I've worked in M'boro, Lavergne, Greenhills, Antioch, Brentwood, and Franklin...pretty much all over. Everywhere I've worked most of the people have been really nice. When I was in Greenhills I filled a prescription for Clint Black. I thought that was pretty cool. And the pharmacist in Brentwood is from Alberta. He was really nice. His wife is a singer/songwriter and we talked about how to meet important people in Nashville and he gave me some advice to pass along to Vern. Tomorrow I am working in Franklin which is really great cause it's right next to the Planet Beach I'm going to be going to here so I'll finally be able to tan for the first time in 3 weeks.
This weekend coming up is the road trip. I'm gonna be really sad if Con doesn't get to go. I got the reservation for the minivan. It is gonna be so much fun. Kel and I already discussed how we are so going thru the drive thru at the adult bookstore...damn thing better be open this year. We're gonna try to get there early enough to actually see Bossier/Shreveport in the daylight for a change. But with it being winter almost it'll probably be dark by the time we get there. Vern is really excited about the trip, which makes me happy. I'm really happy that he is going to be able to go. I was worried he would have to work, but I'm glad he'll be able to experience the fun and hang with us for the weekend. And I'm psyched that my brother is coming too. And Kevvy Wevvy. YAY! We may not spend the night searching the Ramada Inn for OKC Blazers (specifically Ryan Watson) armed with our alcohol and video camera but we will still have a blast! I'm thinking a bottle of hpnotiq and a bunch of smirnoff twisted and we'll be set for a fun filled night. We won't even have to pull any fire alarms. I can't wait!
More updates later and some comments for Con...right now it's time for bed.
