She’s always had nightmares.
Usually they’re horrific nightmares about... Well, many things, not just demons after a few years because you can’t face them for so long without starting to accept that they exist but other things, Beranabus spiriting her away again, her family rising out of the earth with their arms outstretched to drag her down, contracting the family curse and being chased by the lambs or even worse, actually being chased by a werewolf.
By far the most terrifying nightmares are the ones with the lights… It’s odd since it actually feels real in those dreams, she feels safe and yet incredibly scared when she dreams of the lights, the light creatures really since they can speak, cocooned and yet so very vulnerable.
Why? Because they expect so much of her these lights, they want her to do so much for them and save the universe but... She’s just a youngster, she can’t, she’s not strong enough, she’s not smart enough and she’s definitely not good enough, when they whisper to her about how they need her help and how they’re desperate for her “gift” she only feels sick.
She has no gift, she has a curse which sickens her more every day and she can’t summon up the courage to spend the rest of her life trapped with it, at least if she stays far away from the light creatures she has some hope of it one day fading away and leaving her normal… Hopefully they won’t decide to use force before that day comes.
She rarely sleeps, even in the human universe; it’s just safer that way.
