I hate being wishy washy and owning up to liking some things. I guess that's why mankind has invented the phrase "guilty pleasure". I recently read an article written by Gala Darling on her overly sugary sweet, adorable *gags at the mention of the word* blog, iCiNG. I read every post...and it really is a guilty pleasure. Anyways, I read
this article by her today. I always think about that too...how can you extend that extra nicety to someone that day? Compliments are quaint but they mean so much. I really do love her thoughts on the matter too.
And I just had an IM with an online friend of mine. People say the weirdest things late at night. He asked me "What do you want to do with your life?" At first I thought he was quoting from something. I tried telling him that I wanted to create, write music poetry art whatever...but he kept saying "what do you want to say?" I still don't exactly get what he was trying to ask me, but it's something to think about. If your life was a billboard to show to the world, what would it say to the onlookers? I think mine would say something like "Life is beautiful, just look a bit harder." or "Create. Think. Live." ...something along those lines. I still don't think that was the answer he was looking for, though. I guess I'll find out when I talk to him when he's awake.
I'm sick of what I'm doing with each day. I'm still waiting to hear back from that job. In fact, I think I'm going to go drive over there tomorrow to double check. But I'm just reading more blogs, listening to more music, watching more movies, IMing more people... and for what? I'm still at home the whole time, sitting down and staring at a laptop. Sure I climbed the hill once. Sure, we've gone out and done stuff...but I'm still beelining straight back to this screen. I want to do something with my summer, but it's slipping by. I think I've definitely become more cultured or made more aware of cultural references...but it seems rather useless when I snap back to life and other people don't get the references.
And now for something completely different. This makes me laugh every time...ever since I was a wee lass. I still go "yup yup yup" from time to time, too. :P
