I don't need no education...I don't need no thought control...

First day of school tomorrow... 8:15 am...sharp.

I'm scared that what has come during summer will fade. Not like much has come during summer, but you know. I've written some good poems, tried to draw, took pictures, been inspired... Art seems to be the only sort of thing to have fun doing. At least I have an art class...and plenty of binder paper to doodle on. There just won't be as many artsy people. They're all so rigid and horizontal. Oh, to put up with small minds yet again. I'd better stretch my patience muscle out nice and long.

My summer reading...for the most part done. Spark notes is a good tool to have. ;) I mean, I read, but I needed a refresher. So, now I have until tomorrow fourth period to have two essays about them written. And here I am reading my f-list.

The lunar eclipse was SO beautiful! The stars were barely visible against the full moon at first. I invited a friend over to watch it with me. She was having trouble staying up and didn't seem to fully approve of the soundtrack. Haha, yes, I had a soundtrack. :P I have the best lunar eclipse soundtrack in the world. At first, you need to start off with "Echoes" (Pink Floyd) to get you into the spacial mood. Then, there's "'39" (Queen) to get you thinking about what's really up there. Then, I played some songs by Sigur Ros because they're very mysterious and beautiful. Plus, it's slow and gives you plenty of time to ponder what you're seeing...which is also slow-moving. And of course, right in the height of it, you listen straight on through "Dark Side Of The Moon". (yes, I listened to DSotM during the lunar eclipse! Beat that astronomer people!) I timed it a bit off, though, so "Eclipse" played while there was still a little sliver of moonlight left, lol. But, since my friend had relinquished her earbud, I decided to listen to "Saucerful of Secrets" (Pink Floyd) because it's absolutely gorgeous. Plus, it's quite apt to finish out an eclipse to. The actual eclipse was insane! Every so often, you'd turn your head straight up and realize that you could see those stars better and brighter. The sky faded from a blue tinted hue into a dark, velvety midnight shade. The moon grew gradually redder as the light of the sun left it. My camera couldn't even capture what it really looked like to the bare eyes. And at last, under the gaze of a red moon and the Summer Triangle constellation, we both went inside to seek some shut eye. It was around 3:20 am. If you ever have the chance to see a lunar eclipse, go for it, serious! But bring somebody who'll stay up and share your enthusiasm. >.< Ooh, pictures later, I promise. ^^

We finally ate at this really fancy Indian restaurant today for lunch. It's called Breads of India. It was sooooo delicious! The Indian bread, papadum? You need to try it! Amazing. And I had Chicken Tikka Messala, my favorite Indian dish. They made it really well! Perfect amount of spiciness. Shame that place is really expensive, though...

Our neighbor's so funny. She's an older widow and she subscribed to Vogue just because she thought it would be interesting. Haha. She makes me laugh sometimes. ^^ She was upset that it was all ads. So, after she was done looking through it, she gave it to me. I got it today and looked through it. Of all the issues, it was a 600 or so page long fall special. Just when I thought I needed to get cracking on my work, of course. :P And that even came with a supplement issue called Fashion Rocks. That was a really interesting read/look, actually. I loved all the references to my favorite things: Mods, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, The Stones, etc etc. It made me think twice about the fashion world. Maybe they're not as shallow as we all think they are. What with all these articles about opera performances, new art exhibits, historical events in movies and music that influence fashion, new books, and so on and so forth. It's really a lifestyle that they subscribe to. Sort of a haute city chic sort of eminence.

I'm in a really good mood right now. Maybe it's because of that post on
blackcigarette about interesting people that you see from day to day. And with all the comments about friendly bums, strangely dressed people, and people on the underground with a good conversation. Everyone's a person. Half of us just aren't willing to admit that. Well, us upper-middle classed suits, that is.

[cheesiness] Anyways, there's a world out there to enjoy. So... here I go. [/cheesiness]
But really. I'll go make the best of school after I pull the first all-nighter of the year on these two crappy essays. >.<

EDIT: I just finished typing up my essays. It's 1:26 and they're not total crap. Well...close, but not total.
