Pattie, I could have survived the 60s too.
How creepy is this? I find myself reading the excerpts/interview from Pattie's new book and feeling exactly like her. I see so much of myself in her. Seriously, it's almost scary.
-For one, she says, "I realise I like difficult men! I like something to battle with.If somebody is too easy and adores me, I might crush them, which would be cruel." That is SO like myself. Adoration and praises come from the peasants, my friend.
-"She likes to cling on, though: 'I am a very positive person, and I clung on in my marriages thinking, “I'm sure it will get better!' " I dunno, I really like to imagine that things will get better. Positive thinking, muh friend.
-"'George didn't want me to be famous; he just wanted me to be quiet at home. And so that's when I started taking pictures. I wanted to do something." Being quiet at home is SO anti-me. Oi.
-And from the interview: "I tell her, but it was betrayal! Why did you put up with it? And she just shrugs." Almost everything is forgivable. ^^
-Interview: "What does her mother think of the book? 'She was sad that I'd had an unhappy childhood, but I told her, 'Mummy, I'm hardly suffering now. Look at me - I'm fine.' I'm blessed with the fact that I'm a fighter. I've always known life was meant to be joyful.' " That is totally like me! I fight anything and everything. Track pain, procrastination's repercussions, physical pain, etc. Life isn't real if there isn't anything to endure against. That totally sounds like something I'd say, too.
-"Does she regret not having children? 'Yes, but the thing is, I tried, so it can't be a regret, can it?'" Man, Pattie's so strong. ^^ I hope to be that way. But I imagine I will be. I mean, I don't regret anything as of yet.
I'll stop with the quotes,but basically, I just felt so in tune with all her explanations for things. I dunno, it was just really weird to see someone that i could relate to on a personality level. I was going insane realizing it, and what with all the people in those Beatle communities totally dissing her because of the book...I was feeling really miffed. I think the book has made me appreciate her more. ^^ And maybe I have a chance at becoming a model and marrying a rock star? Heehee, I hope so. ^^
Oyg... My brother's demanding the computer, so I guess you are all left with my half-brewed musings. I DID get my Senior picture proofs today (all but the ones they're printing wallets and such of...those'll be done later). So, basically these are all the rejects. :P But, we took a fair amount in a bunch different sets/poses/whatever. Ugh, I hate portraits. They're not artsy enough. >.< Fashion magazines SO have better spreads than any portrait place. I think my senior picture should be taken like that. ^^ That would rock some SERIOUS socks! ^^ Also, tennis started today. And this is the year our coach decides that we should do some workout type stuff. >.< Whatever. I'll survive alright. It's just the moving in from summer's laziness that's no fun.
Last night, I went on a Pink Floyd listening binge again. I can't help it...I always migrate right on back. But, why, oh, why do people look down on "Piper"?! I was reading a bunch of journals on last.fm about Pink Floyd. People usually rate it way down on their list! I just really appreciate it when people cite Animals above Dark Side. I dunno...it's the overratedness that kills me. I lovelove Dark Side, but still.
Anyways, I'd better go before my brother gets any more irate.
