Day in the life...

Today was actually eventful. Man, I know. Summers are eventful?

First I awoke at noon. Mmm...noon. I was kinda bored from being...still sleepy so I tried out how Marylin Monroe did her eye makeup. It was a bit over the top, but beautiful. Aka: perfect for me. ^^ Then I scarfed down some taquitos before piano lessons. Then I found out that our ensemble recital's in November, not in January like it was originally guessed. Ah well, more practice never hurt anyone. I always do the traditional accomaniment to my dad's singing in each ensemble recital. (Ensemble just meaning you play with someone else, even singing and stuff) So, this year we're doing "Bridge Over Troubled Water". My suggestion, of course. ^^ Transposed down a step and a half, haha. Man, Mr. Garfunkel has quite the range. I'm also doing this quite rapid piece by Mozart with another girl. I need to work on that, ha. I guess I'll put my solo recital stuff on the shelf for the time being. For that I'm playing Copeland's "Cat and Mouse". Yeah, that's a fun one. Also, another contemporary composer's "Poem Idellica". Apparently he's a local composer. Either way, the song's still amazingly beautiful. ^^ So...I need to work in that.

After all this such stuff, I went over to church to work on a friend's video for this "film festival" next month. It's basically just this thing for our youth group. She had brought all the crazy clothes she could probably find for all of us to wear. See, it's a whack game show. It's basically a mix of every game show out there. If I remember correctly, the title was "Don't remember if your deal is smarter than the lyrics of a dancing fifth grader". XD Good, innit? So, I was the hippie. (original, eh? I'm always the hippie...) She had the brightest yellow, pink, and green dress. Oi. She attacked me with bright pink eyeshadow. I looked like a baby doll. >.< Ahaha, her older brother dressed up in the BEST 70s suit! It was awesome. He was the game show host. I kept telling him to do the hustle, but apparently I'm the only one in this present generation to have seen Saturday Night Fever. There were also quite a few other stereotypes represented within the show: drama queen, sporty girl, nerd, tribal, more 70s, skater, 80s prom, and emo. It was fun. ^^

Then I just stayed there because we had music practice. Went well and stuff. I'm still on keys for that. I know I can play it, but it's kinda boring. I can play keys in muh sleep. Maybe later I can rotate in on guitar and get some practice in. Then, we had youth group. I'm always starving by then because I haven't eaten dinner. I guess I just have to get used to being anorexic on Wednesdays. The junior highers were having an all-nighter at the church, so my brother and I came in and taunted them before going out to the car. Haha, all my little buddies are in there because the high school group's too full of drama for me. Ew for cliques and drama. If clique-y drama was a person, I'd shoot it right in between the eyes. >.< It's fun being a senior around the youth group because you know everyone so well. Plus, you get to pick on the leaders. :P They're more my friends than half the kids there...blegh.

So, we came home and my parents were watching this thing on abc about polygamists. Oi. How can these women put up with that?! The interviewer guy asked one of them, "what do you think about feminists?" and the lady laughed and said, "I don't know...troubled childhood or something?" Dude. It's SO hokey what you can make people believe all in the name of "god". I just went back to making my dinner rolling my eyes like crazy. (Serious, you can never underestimate the power of a good eyeroll. It's an important part of my everyday arsenal.)

After that, we watched this movie we had taped called "Impromptu". It was about the love life of Chopin. Sounds odd, I know, but it was actually good! This authoress who went around wearing trousers developed this outrageous crush on the composer, but he was rather frail and unused to ladies wanting to attack him out of love. It's basically the story of her trying to get him and stuff. It made me think about the roles men and women play (what with the woman being rather feisty and the man being frail), as well as the place of art in society (because all these people of artistic talents were all invited to aristocratic houses just for the pleasure of the rich making themselves feel cultured), and the idea of love. I love movies that make you think like that. This was not my favourite movie of all time, by all means, but I just liked the thoughts it generated. Haha, and Hugh Grant as Chopin reminded me of old pictures of my dad from the 80s, what with his poofy hair. XD

Then, my brother insisted that I watch an episode of 21 Jump Street. HAHA! Young Johnny Depp! :P I think all of today's modern Depp fangirls should see that movie, maybe just to see him with that funny hairdo. ^^ It's quite entertaining. My brother and I decided that we're going to bring it back. Well, along with the phrase "Sweet licks, man" that the captain (the hold over hippie) says alot. Heehee, my brother thought they kept calling Johnny Depp "handsome", but it turns out his name is "Hanson" in the show. Lol.

Totally yoinked from
waterlooxsunset, I know. But it's funstuffs, man.
Why are you taking anyways?

Serious, cat, I don't want your love. :P

Lol, what?

I REALLY want to icon stuff, but it's almost three in the morning. Maybe I'll just finish eating these papadums and reread some macros.
