List 10 songs that begin with the letter given to you and explain why you picked them. Comment and I shall give you a letter.
I got the letter "G" thanks to
meredith_k 1. "Glass Onion" by the Beatles
I love this song! It's so abstract and beautiful. Plus, you can tell who's listened to it or not because in this song it says the Walrus was Paul, but people who haven't heard it think that the Walrus was John. *coughferrisbeullercough*
2. "Get Back" by the Beatles
A classic! I could listen to them "getting back" all day long! The gem of "Let It Be", methinks. Most of the rest is too sad to listen to.
3. "The Great Escape" by We Are Scientists
What can I say? This song's SO catchy! Emo, but in a good way- rockin'! Plus, the music vid's crazy random.
4. "Get Off My Cloud" by the Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones. Kinda HAD to include them! ^^ This is an amazing song. A true classic! And you better get off my cloud, unless you're a fellow teenage rebel. ;)
5. "Gotta Serve Somebody" by Bob Dylan
Bobby's best song on his Christian albums, methinks. It has a great message which is spot on.
6. "Guinnevere" by Donovan
I've been on a Donovan kick lately and I couldn't leave this out! The words as well as the singing are really pretty.
7. "Gates of the West" by the Clash
Reccomended to my by the one and only Hives. I love the Clash, personally. They fit right in with the whole teenage rebel thing from the Stones. This song's catchy as well. ^^
8. "The Ghost of the Navigator" by Iron Maiden
My fave metal song! Yay! 'Nuff said.
9. "The Great Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd
HAD to include some Floyd, admit it. Dark Side of the Moon's AMAZING! If I could I would listen to it nonstop. ^^ Serious, it's wonderment.
10. "The Gnome" by Pink Floyd
More Floyd. ;) I can play this one on guitar, that's why I included it. Plus, I LOVE Piper at the Gates of Dawn. ^^ My fave Floyd Album, with DSotM in second.
ANNND... I had to write a poem for Creative Writing with a pseudonym, so I might as well put it on here too.
Enslaved
By U. N. Owen
I want to belong to the land of the living,
As I watch and I wait,
Seeing true meaning succumb to my fate.
Revelries overcome through what silence brings.
And out of that wall, a new light sings.
Hearken! To its overwhelming desire.
Watch as its essence melts, innocently, upon an open fire.
And yet, I want to save it, free it from dying pain,
Undoing all evil set against its “sacred” name.
And then, with shining eyes, I set it anew upon the pyre.
Darkness encloses on my shackled hand,
Every effort: to and for, equally banned.
I dare not the moon to rise and the stars to sparkle.
Reason and calm mind are void and null,
Taken over by something I barely understand.
Utterly frivolous, but I cannot cast lies aside.
The oozing gum stuck upon my shoe,
You! You are the cause to the you I seek to undo.
Memories lost in the shadows stretching sky-wide,
Emblazoned upon a tongue skillfully tied.
Yeah, so that's my poem that I'm turning in anonymously tomorrow. I'm kinda thinking that they'll have no clue what it's about. Umm...yeah, doubtful you lot'll know either. It's about teenage crushes. Yeah, reread the poem with that in mind and hopefully it'll make more sense. The lying to not admit it, the want to kill the crush by being unable to, all in secret, yup, all in there.
