"And so this is Christmas..."
Today's my dad's birthday! ^^ The day before Christmas Eve, I know... And my brother's birthday is the day after Christmas. Crazy week.
My dad's birthday means we have crab for dinner, which is delish. I'm known to be quite the shellfish fan. :P After an early dinner, we went and saw the movie "Yes Man" because my brother works at the theater and got us in for free. ^^ The movie was fun and cute. I recommend it if you're looking to rent a good sleepover movie, but that's about it. (To be honest, movies really aren't my kind of media, so for the most part, never mind my usually critical movie reviews.)
There was an element of cheesy laugh lines in that movie, but the underlying theme was gold. The plot of the movie is that Jim Carrey's character is negative and doesn't like committing to anything. He goes to a seminar where he makes a "covenant with the universe" to say 'yes' to everything. He does and it changes his life. In the end, of course, he realizes that there is a time to say 'no' too and all that lovely hollywood crap. Within that horribly touching and family friendly message is a thread of my own life's aim. During the movie, I nearly GASPED because the theme of a corney movie resonated so clearly with me! So many people don't live life! *le sigh* I just wish I had that many people offering me opportunities to do awesome stuff like that...
Ever noticed that when philosophizing, everybody looks like an idiot? Yeah... Or sounds like one at least.
Every time I look in the mirror, I keep doing a double take at my reflection. It feels like I'm in the show Alias or something and wearing a disguise... Such a different look for me.

Ps- I'm really miffed about having a cold right now. My nose is stuffy and my voice is blegh. >.< I need that voice to sing Christmas carols! gah!
