"I just lose control, down to my very soul..."

WOW. What a day this has been.

FIRST thing of order. Upon arriving home I received a Christmas present in the mail! I *need* to thank the lovely siko_k  for being AMAZING and sending those 60s magazines and awesome note. :D I have already had several lulz over them. (Your handwriting is not awful. I have a strong opinion that handwriting shouldn't be set to the standard of Times New Roman. It's just another sort of "font". :P Rants, aside...)

I had my piano jury today. The whole semester hinged on that event, to be honest. It was constantly in the back of my mind, not letting me relax because I knew I could always be practicing piano for it. I never did practice enough, according to the piano professor's life-invading idea of a practice schedule. I practiced for a good forty-five minutes, then went back to my room to decompress a bit. I talked to my roommate (shock!) and she said she's always wanted to play the piano. I walked over to play through my pieces once more before arriving early to the concert hall. They were running late, so I talked with the girl (a fellow freshman) who still had to go before me. She was near panicking. I told her deep breaths and focus on the pieces and all that confidence building stuff. After she'd finished her performance for the professors, it was my turn. The main professor was reassuring and understood that I had switched my major to English. I got up there and performed my pieces, hands not shaking. Keep well aware of the fact that hands are quick to be shaky upon performing for a crowd. I messed up in new places that I'd have never dreamed I made mistakes in, because that's how piano performing goes. All in all, I think I did...alright. I played one perfectly, one pretty good, and one eh. I think this shows a step up for me, though, in that I can play in front of people without being nervous!

And I arrived at home today. :) School was getting tiring, what with everyone leaving. Although I am going to miss my new addiction to Dr. Pepper and DC french fries. Now I can go back to my old habits of Pomegranate Lemonade and Earl Grey tea. ^^ And my mom was quick to show me all these things she's been busy working on at home. She's been dying wool, learning to play the harp, and eager to try a recepie to make homemade parmesean cheese. WHERE do you think I get this restless crafting from?

Heh. My friend, Robert, from high school just messaged me on Facebook. Fancy that, he's thinking of adding a philosophy major to his pre-med one. What is it with me and finding people who want to switch to philosophy? That was the guy I was overly flirty with this summer. Talking to anther friend about planning a new years party for all of us, my mind can't help but wander into the what ifs that could happen. (You know, at midnight) Nothing will probably happen in reality. Bloody men with names starting with the letter "R"...
