"Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme"

I wish we all could find magic in every day things.
That said, it's apparently Christmas season = Advent. So get thinking about Christmas. Not about what shopping you need to do, but about how to make this month MAGICAL. I'm going to work my hardest at that.

Meeting more and more people that are down on life, I realize just how much it means to have (or at least to portray) optimism or happiness.

I also wanna say that the more and more people I meet here in college, the more I appreciate LJ friends. Cuz seriously, you lot are amazing. I'm glad I get a chance to share this blip of my life with you brilliant people.

A friend in my choir class has been going through a really tough time recently with her ex-boyfriend. She's had a whole list of facebook notes and status changes going on about what is love and this nonsense. Apparently he tried to rape her and that ended up getting him jail time. Seriously, my friend has gained a lot of strength through this. Today in class she was shaken, I could tell. She told me the story, explaining that she's taken to wearing her cross necklace again and that today was her giving-out-hugs day. When we were rehearsing one of our Christmas pieces, I could've sworn I saw her touch her cross necklace as we sang "shelter thee with tender care".

...I want to meet someone here that is as into folk music as I am, because it's brilliant stuff. It represents a quiet, lazy afternoon in the shade or a lonely 3 am in the sleepless, yawning dim light.
