Being back home is quite strange.
We went to Thanksgiving with our family friends, as is customary. Most our family is in the midwest, so this has more or less become tradition. We spent it singing cheesy karaoke, drinking MUCH TOO MUCH sparkling cider, laughing about silly dances, and talking about silly things. There were four other families besides ours...and me and the other chick my age were still put at the kid's table. That's ok...we had a good time getting drunk on fake alcohol. :P
And it seems rather strange...but it's like 'gift Katrina' week or something. My aunt sent me an iPod touch...so I've been installing apps onto it all day. So far, my favorite is an eBook reader. :D And here I was being all anti iPods...*le sigh* I really don't listen to music all that much either.
AND my mom's friend's sister owns a harp business...and they're downsizing. So she bought A HARP. Dude...we have a black harp that's just a little shorter than me sitting in our sitting room. And it's really old too, like from the early 60s she said. My mom seems interested in learning how to play it too. I thought this was just something *I* had a vague interest in. Looks like I will be taking up the harp.
Plus my family's just weird. My parents are still in *flipping out* mode...mostly in that they've been acting strange. To be honest, I think it's them facing my brother and I leaving. My mom still dealing with the fact that in two years, she won't have to worry about my brother's cross country meets...My brother agrees that they've just been acting really odd lately. He says it's weird *being* here.
My dad is going bonkers because his best friend (since childhood, mind you) met and *clicked* with Marie Osmand. Seriously. He went to the meet-Donny-and-Marie-after-the-concert thing and Marie said "You're cute" and they just started talking. Now mind you, he's never been married. He left his card with her and talked to her the night after (at another meet-after-the-concert thing...he snuck in). He sent flowers to her show saying something nice, but nothing overtly romantic...and he's on pins and needles wondering where all this could go. MARIE OSMAND. Needless to say, my dad and his friend have been freaking out like little fangirls about this. I've heard the story told four times now.
...I knew I should've brought home my acoustic with me over the weekend. I need that thing.

Ps- I just want to go back to school...I don't want to meet up with my high school friends on Saturday. Not the ones I know I'll see there anyways.
