cover letters are not my friend
So I am starting out STRONG ladies (funny, i don't have a single male journal buddy..ha haa!)
I updated my YahooHotJobs account today!! pat on the back for MOI. It was quite tedious, but luckily I had to update my resume lately for the Project Manager position in my department so all I really had to do was cut and paste.
I don't know why these job search engines all have their own formats though- you can't just "upload" your resume. You gotta cut and paste all the sections into their respective sections on the site's templates (ie Experience, Skills, Objective). Manual labor- ick.
Once that was done, I thought, Ok, let's at least send my resume out to ONE job today. But gosh darn it, I forgot about COVER LETTERS. I HATE cover letters. I'm never very good at talking about myself. Or rather, its not the easiest to "sell" yourself and that's exactly what cover letters are. I agonize over these things. Supposedly employers look at them. Honestly, I've hired in the past tho, and have done nothing more than skim at them. So while I spend 5 hours questioning word choice, my prospective employer might only spend 5 seconds on it. =P Since I can't agonize forever and ever at work, I'll just have to wait til I get home to send out that ONE job submission later this weekend. ke kee
