Ha, no, I didn't think you were a "weird stalker" for being able to find my site; I just knew it was buried under a long string of links and it's not necessarily easy to figure out where the page might be. The linking path would be main page --> about me --> favorites --> books --> author fansites --> k.a. applegate, so I was impressed (no, not creeped out, haha) that you found it. I didn't think about the alternate way to get to it through the site map--good thinking. Heh.
I'm really glad to hear that your journal is more stacked toward sadness than you are in reality, 'cause I glanced through and saw a few things that made me think your life is really hard . . . especially since you're in another country and I know from both experience and from friends' comments that such a thing can be isolating, especially when the people you talk to about it aren't sympathetic. (Except for good ol' LJ, lol!)
Really glad you're mostly enjoying the JET program.
I like when I run into people (again, figuratively) who like stuff I do but didn't connect with me through forums or groups about those subjects. Like how I once found out one of my favorite webcomic artists is an Animorphs fan just because I ran into her fanart, or when I found a couple LJ friends who were members of groups I didn't know they were part of. It's especially cool when the things we have in common that we like are sort of rare, and disconnected from each other. Like, people who like Francesca Lia Block and people who like Animorphs aren't really the same people, but here you are. . . .
I'm hoping to have a YA book published so finding people who appreciate YA writing is really encouraging. ;)
