I just found out that about a month ago, someone posted a link on Reddit to one of my essays, and the dozens of comments talking about me were overwhelmingly not nice. It's three parts amusing and one part disturbing

It's sad just how nasty internet folk can get about those they don't even know. This type of thing happens time and time again on such sites as 'Oh No They Didn't' - someone will post a photo of a celebrity standing beside a fan and then everyone will jump on the bandwagon saying the most horrible things about the fan, like they're ugly, picking apart their photo the way they stand, facial expressions etc. You leave the sometimes-awful grounds of highschool but on the internet is where the bullies turn to after school. :( I'd guess that these idiots are only saying you're self obsessed because they can't understand someone knowing themselves so well to actually put their thoughts down coherantly on a website, they couldn't do such a thing because maybe they'd have nothing interesting to say so they pick on you, someone they can't relate to, cause these asses are so dull. And the not 'conventionally attractive' thing is just lame; you're more conventionally attractive than anyone I know. They don't even know what they're talking about. Ahh yes, and of course having a dick in an ass is always the answer to everything *rolls eyes* Blah. Someone should stamp on their computers, throw it off the balcony, and punch them in their genitals.
I laughed really hard at your comment about stamping on their computers and punching them in the genitals. Hehehe.
I'm not sure what they meant by the "not conventionally attractive" comments, but I think I was a lot more offended by the idea that I react the way I do simply because the only guys who approach me must be acting like they're doing me a favor. (???)
Considering the fact that in a way putting so much of myself out there is pretty brave, I'd sure as hell like to see any one of them sum themselves up in such a way and not get mocked for it by SOMEONE. And I agree there's probably so little TO the people who are saying this stuff that they're threatened and insecure when they see someone who's willing to say as much as I do. But noooo, I'm just "self-obsessed." Whatever.
