My family are the only people I love more than myself. My nieces, Daphne 5 yrs old and Nadine 2 yrs old would top my list. Yesterday, at around 3pm, my mom texted me that they’re on their way to my sister’s house (Vista Valley Executive Village, Marikina), coz my sister’s been robbed and the kids are missing. My mind went blank for awhile. Tears were pouring down. I couldn’t think straight. I was hoping that the kids are just in the neighbor. I called up my ate fritz, she was crying and she asked me where her children are, I told her I don’t know and she asked me what happened I just told her that our parents are on the way to her house. My sister is driving on the way to Marikina so we have to put down the phone and I just told her to take care. Next person I called is my ate summer, she’s also crying and asked me the same questions, at the end of the conversation she told me that we should go to Marikina as well. I asked permission from my supervisor and was permitted to go. In that moment, all I can think of is pray. I was in a dazed and rode a taxi that still has a passenger inside. We dropped the woman off to EDSA Shrine and went to Marikina. I can see the heavy traffic in the whole stretch of Emerald Ave, God made me realize His control over the situation by the unbelievably moving traffic at whatever lane we pass thru. It was the longest taxi ride I’ve been into. I’m still clueless of what to do and how to be of help. All I know is that it is only the Lord who has the power over this situation and I just prayed that my nieces wouldn’t get hurt in any way. My tears never stopped pouring down, I was silently crying, it was the most painful tears I’ve cried. In my sister’s street are numerous neighbors trying to help, my hysterical mom, the rest of the family talking to the SWAT, and a number of policemen. I tried so hard to think straight and to compose myself, it was heartbreaking to be in that scenario…the SWAT and cops are all over the place with armalites and guns on their shoulders, they were calling for back-up and are planning to set-up check points around Marikina. The scenario was like that for 6 hours. We don’t have an idea where to look for them, all we have are little pieces of stories from whoever the yaya has talked to. At around 8pm, the “yaya” texted my in-law, she said we could meet them in jolibee angono. My in-law, parents, some policemen and the SWAT went to every fast food chain they saw in angono and antipolo but there were no signs of my nieces. After about an hour, my sister received a call from the subdivision security informing her that there are two kids and a yaya in the guardhouse, I heard my sister talk to the yaya and seconds after, I heard her talking to Daphne. The brother of my in-law and I immediately hopped in the car and rushed to the guardhouse. Neither of us were talking, all I can hear are murmurs of hopeful prayers. We ignored every hump that went our way, we are just focused on seeing our nieces. 5 meters away I saw my Nadine, I jumped off the car even before it went to a full stop. I called up my nieces from a distance and realized that I should still compose myself for them not to be traumatized. Finally, they were in my arms, we went to their house where they thought there was a big party.
What really happened was that somebody called up my sister’s house and told the maid that my in-law met an accident and he needs money for hospital expenses. The maid ransacked my sister’s room and packed the valuables to give to the suspect. She was instructed to meet the “lawyer of my in-law” in angono. She immediately followed orders and gave the valuables asap. The yaya brought the children along because my “in-law” instructed her to. Good thing was that the suspect just looked at my nieces, he didn’t talk or even went close to kids, he just took everything including the yaya’s cellphone and went off. The suspect told the yaya that my “in-law” needs the cellphone and that she should stay put in jolibee and will be fetched there by my in-law. At 8pm, the “yaya” texted my in-law to pick-up the kids, but at that time the kids are already restless so the yaya decided to go back home. They were stopped at the subdivision’s guardhouse because of the reported kidnapped kids. That was the only time the guard called up my sister’s house to report that the children are there. The suspects are known to be dugo-dugo gang. They are small time swindlers in Marikina, they’ve been doing this for months or years maybe.
We never thought this could happen to us, my dad is a retired police colonel, I can’t imagine his disappointment yesterday. We’re taking legal actions against the yaya. Who knows if she’s just a dumb victim or an instrument to this incident. But of course, whats important is that the kids are safe. They thought they just made pasyal. Daphne was asking us “what happened to my house?, is there something wrong? Why are there a lot of people in my house? Why is it so gulo in mommy’s room?” Ate fritz just told her that we were looking for a pencil, and that maybe Daphne borrowed it, she told her mommy “no mommy I didn’t do anything.” At 1am, my mom told Daphne that we’re about to leave and go home to BF, she told my mom, “don’t leave yet lola, the party isn’t over yet.”
God answered all my prayers…He kept my nieces safe. They were not hurt any way, all they know is that they ate french fries and played in jolibee and apparently there also is a big party in their house.
