Okay, so where was I?
Ah yes, the meeting of the estranged father of zoonnie . Well, to be honest, I wasn't sure this was ever going to come to pass, since the last time she and he talked was last February (it didn't end well). So, we meet up at the funeral home (this just sounds like a bad joke).
He is -
1. Obnoxious
2. Self-absorbed
3. Inappropriate
4. Crass
5. Loud
And those are his good qualities.
I mostly stood by during his many "conversations", which entailed a great deal of talking at people about inane topics. He reminds me in many ways of the ex (and that ain't a good thing). I found an amusing game to play - let him talk at you for awhile, and don't respond in any manner. It just keeps perplexing him, causing him to rant even more. I especially liked the random "I'm just gonna walk out off this conversation and not say word" moments when I needed a little "time out". Yick.
In other news, I'm still reeling from the guilt-barrage from my Mom, who called to see if we were coming up to see them for my Dad's birthday and mine. Lets just say I'm to blame for - my brother's financial situation, the leaky roof, the fact that my dad was retired prematurely, the lack of places to eat, the fact I spaced emailing my brother about lunch this week (guilty!), and the dishwasher that blew a seal. And that was in the first three minutes of the conversation.
I see Shannon, aka dixie_yankee , has joined the LJ community. Huzzah! I say move back - I don't like Atlanta, and I haven't even been there yet. I'm hoping that gojira65 hasn't burned his house down. Also, a big thanks to _lore for the birthday present - a paid account for six months! Woohoo! Now all I have to do is learn all the neat features (and post something pithy once in a while).
