It's happening. With the all the DAir love still spreading in the internets like wildfire, once furtive and guilty-looking fans hiding their love for the pairing of Dan and Blair (finally released as TPTB have given their
Word of God Blessing, contradicting previous endgame announcements) are producing obras in word and vid because we have 6 weeks to fill.
The fanfics are turning
purple people. It's worrying. I'm not pointing any one fic out, but since I've taken on the DAir is the Endgame Fanfic community - an exclusive FFnet community that compiles all the "happy ending fic" (because angsty fic is beautiful but back when we were assured a certain endgame it didn't seem necessary to include fics that would have a "canon" ending) - well, the prose is turning purple. It is unsettling. The affliction doesn't seem to be found in the LJ community.... so far.
I know we're all happy and all, but as a great person once said "i can appreciate your expressive prose, but like a masterful lover one must practice restraint". That is all.

It's interesting that is now gauche to even say you're a Chuck fan in the forums. For years, DAir fans have been ostracized, forced into hiding and forming exclusive little comms in the internets. Now with season 4 the way it is, it's like the lifting of apartheid. I hope it doesn't go too far into the opposite direction. I hope we're not creating this weird situation that requires some kind of affirmative action protocol so that the more "mature" fans can restrain the terrorist stans in their ship. Although, I'm not sure if there are Dair terrorist stans. It's a good thing that there's a possible new name for those on Team DAir, DAirBears as opposed to DAirDevils.
The thing is, there will eventually be a call to war. And we know shipper wars are ugly. It doesn't help that there are actually 3 main factions here and there's bound to be ship jumping when redemption arcs come, as expected. This is going to be an interesting last 2 seasons. That is all. XOXO
