2008 lets have a chat shall we?
You really busted me up you know? This time last year I was crying over a plate of cookies, trying to keep my mind off of my boyfriend at a party somewhere without me. Then I lost my financial aid and had to drop out of school, just when I thought I had found my calling. I was lost, broke and confused and then Lauren came to pick me up from work and handed me a card that was addressed to Aunt Courtney. I cried instantly, knowing what the note would say inside. Everything I had been hoping for, she was pregnant with my very first nephew. It was that day my whole life changed and my eyes chose a path to look down. Holding James in my arms this morning, his gorgeous grey eyes straining against the lights in the hospital room to get a peek at his Aunt Courtney- I realized everything I wanted out of life.
2009, I ask of you this one thing- please help me get there!
Here are my hopes for the coming year:
I will start pastry school at the Midwest Culinary Institute in February, hopefully it wont be too long before I am prepared to start a career in a field I am truly passionate and excited about.
Continuing my job at the candy store is proving to be the best decision I ever made, I love and respect every person I work with and I would hope they feel the same way about me. Please let me continue to grow and make connections with more people in the field that will help me throughout my career.
Zachary has been my best friend since we met in August. He loves the good-mood-courtney and the bad-mood-courtney as much as he loves the outgoing-courtney and the insecure-courtney. I love him when he's hillarious-zach and when he's cheesy-zach, when he's over-the-top-sweet-zach as much as the clueless-forgetful-zach. He is my pal for life and I hope this year we can finally GO ON A VACATION!
I hope my little family continues to grow closer together as we have been the past few years. Liking your brothers and sisters as adults is so much easier-they don't steal your toys! I hope each and every one of them continues to be healthy and happy and will make plenty of gorgeous nieces and nephews for me!
