I'm faxing *another* job application today - this one is to Texas Department of Aging and Disability. I am perfectly qualified. Once again, I can make my application mimic the wording of the job description without lying. I am not holding my breath

And yes, it was a busy week for Marisa. By Thursday she was was frazzled and stayed home from the softball shindig to study and finish up some work that was due on Friday.
Sam's last day of school was Friday. He passed his English and writing exit exam with flying colors (99) and squeaked by in math (64), but he is happy. He graduates next Saturday. He has a job lined up at Albertson's (grocery store) for after the Kerrville Folk Festival, and he is going to apply at Borders today as a back up.
The girls are finished this coming Thursday, with finals all next week. They passed their teks test, which I guess I commpare to Sam's exit exams. They both got commended scores in writing and exceeded standards in math. I was relieved to see it, and didn't even realize that I was nervous until I received the scores in the mail. The girls haven't had anything like teks (Texas essential knowledge) or comprehensive finals, so it is new to them and they are on a learning curve.
Gabe goes to school through June 2. I will not be a happy mama driving one child into Austin for school after next week when everyone else gets to sleep in. Hmmm, maybe I will let Sam be the one to wake up and drive to carpool.

I meant "something" on my application, but now that I think about it, it could be someone. I have heard that most hiring managers don't check references until after the first interview, so I doubt someone is bad mouthing me.
