...Someone give me some details about this. I keep hearing something about a black plague or something, but this never happened in my world.

That's correct. My father is amongst those affected and I recognise the work of the Great Death very well. After that bloody curse made me endure it in flesh.

I heard a lot about the symptoms, but how do you get it?

[steeldame]

In history, the source was in the rats and the germ-bearing fleas they carried. There are hints of unusual rodent behaviour, although no rat has died as should be expected from a diseased one.

None of them have died? That's strange... And yet they seem to be connected to the plague- some of the infected people are reporting being bitten by rats right before they fell ill.

As far as I can tell. If they did, somebody must have hidden them because there is a lack of dead rodents in the vicinity.

Well...I know this is kinda gonna sound weird, but has anyone considered magic as a possibility?

Magic or genetic engineering could be possible explanations.
