Driving through western KS sucks!

We just got back from a whirlwind trip to Colorado. We left Monday after work, which was an AWESOME 7 hour drive, and arrived in Idaho Springs at 1:30 am only to find out the damn motel we were staying at didnt leave the key to our room under the mat. We searched high and low, but to no avail. We ended up at this rather funny place with a hot korean chick running the desk, and an even HOTTER korean chick running it in the morning.
Saw Lusiphur (OMG DID I SPELL THAT WRONG?!?!?!) on tuesday, and he took us to some awesome places to check out new and used anime shit. I was trying to hide it, but I felt like a little kid in a candy store. I am very happy to see that he made off so well. I wouldnt have admitted it to his face, but I was glad to see him. Wish I had more to say, but all I could think was "where we came in?.....Isn't this", and "this house is gonna collapse on my white-trash, poor, insignificant body and swallow me whole". We ended up staying in Idaho Springs that night again.
Met up with Dad and Grandma wednesday morning, and roughed it up in the forested mountains. The seclusion was absolutely wonderful, and we watched stars that night. In the RV up from us, they were watching TV, obviously some old horror movie due to the soundtrack, and it only added to the atmos. Very very nice, and we finished up the night in our tent making me a D&D character, since it seems that the Count will remain on the shelves for a while longer.
Thursday was Aquarium in Denver, and hiking up St Marys glacier. The aquarium was really cool, and I was amazed to see that the only bathroom in the whole exhibit was a handicapped one which strictly prohibited un-handicapped people to use it, so I used it anyway. St Marys was very very pretty, I hiked up to the snowline and held a ball of snow in my hands. It was really cool in the fact that it didnt melt. Went back to camp and decided to head home that evening.
We left at about 11:30pm mountain time, only to run into the worst 9-10 hours of my life. I slept the first half, or at least tried to. We stopped at Watkins to use the bathroom, and I swear that gas station is something straight out of Texas chainsaw massacre, or any horror movie along those lines. And right across from it was the Biscuits Diner, which looked as if leatherface was the head chef at this redneck establishment, and those two things were the ONLY things there. It was like 3 am mountain time, quiet, desolute, and mortifying.
I would go on about the trip home, but in person is the best way to describe it. We got home at 10 am, and have been up since. I dont really want to be home, but hey, anything as long as we arent in that fucking car through western KS.
