i am fixated

Wakey wakey
rise and shine
it's on again, off again, on again
watch me fall
like dominos
in pretty patterns
Fingers in the blackbird pie
i'm tingling tingling tingling
it's what you feel not
what you ought to, what you ought to
reasonable and sensible
dead from the neck up
I guess im stuffed, stuffed, stuffed
we thought you had it in you
but no, no, no
for no real reason

Squeeze the tubes and empty bottles
take a bow take a bow take a bow
it's what you feel now
not what you ought to
what you ought to
an elephant thats in the room is
tumbling tumbling tumbling
duplicate and triplicate
plastic bags and
in duplicate and triplicate
dead from the neck up
I guess im stuffed, stuffed, stuffed
we thought you had it in you
but no, no, no
exactly where do you get off? is enough is enough
I love you but enough is enough,
enough of that stuff
There's no real reason

you've got a head full of feathers
you gonna melt into butter

Faust Arp -- Radiohead

---------- oooooooo ------- ooooooo

There are just some songs (well lots for me) that leave you staring into space, transported into the middle of here and there, leaving you immobile... like a deer frozen by headlights.  That is Faust Arp to me.  It hits home.  Things that I want to say masked into words that can easilly be visualized into so many situations.  This is why I love Radiohead.  Thom Yorke's ability to write songs that still hold their private value (to him as a songwriter) ... he doesn't really spill anything personal out and yet he leaves enough meat in it to have other people sighing, nodding, while others are left scratching their heads wondering.  I would love for my music writing to mature towards this direction.  It's really difficult to lay out all your emotions and then let it go for everyone to dissect.  With how Thom wrote this song... it's still a part of him but it's not all of him... and yet that small part is big enough for his fans to be consumed by it.  He's not left completely naked but you get a glimpse of why he wrote it.

I miss writing.  Soon, I will have time again for it.  Right, Lord?  And maybe then I'd have the courage to share it with the rest of whoever's interested.  :)
