I'm amazed that your parents aren't charging you rent - everyone our age that I know who still lives at home has to pony up at least $100/week for rent. Enjoy it, it's a fabulous luxury!!!

Good to see things are going well for you :)

Hey, do you like sushi? My sushi buddies in the area are fairly limited, and there's a great sushi restaurant on 114 in Middleton (Blue Fin). Please tell me you're a fan ;) My better half is a meat-and-potatoes fella, and won't even try anything more exotic. I'm still struggling to find a decent Vietnamese restaurant on the North Shore (closest I can find is Lowell - NOT going there!).

Yeah, it is nice. Mom was saying not too long ago that she had read some article that she ought to be charging me rent, but she never really followed up on it. I mean, if they did charge me at that rate I'd be able to afford it, but less would go to my savings, which I don't think is really what my parents want. I would also probably move out sooner if the cost differential between living here and renting somewhere else were small. But I think they sort of like having me here for now. I cook for them when I'm not working, and I do some chores around the house, particularly helping out mom (who has MS and needs a lot of help sometimes.) And they've got all this space at home whether they need it or not. So it works out well for all of us, but yes, I'm very lucky ( ... )

It's nice that you have such a good relationship with your folks. I moved out as soon as I could because I get along a lot better with my parents and sister when I don't live with them ;) My sister and father are disabled, and my mother is nuts (seriously), so I just do what I can from afar to help. It's much better than being a virtual slave to their whims when I lived there.

I will have to check my schedule for next week and beyond - I'm focusing on dealing the upcoming weekend and will know what's what better then. Tuesday evenings are usually the best for me, and I see that at least for next week you only work till 5. Maybe then? If not next week then the week after, perhaps? YAY SUSHI!!!!! :D

My favorite Vietnamese place is in Worcester, where I'm originally from. I try and get there a few times a year, still.

I'm riding the high of having a new sushi friend :) My typical sushi buddy has been putting in 14 hour workdays and has been too exhausted to let me drag him out for food.

Sure, next Tuesday sounds good. I might even be coming from the same direction you are -- since Apple is just off of 95, I might take that up to 114 in Danvers and go west from there. Google maps thinks the restaurant is several minutes closer to Apple than my house. Is 6-ish good? I might be there early if I go straight from work, but I wouldn't trust rush hour traffic. My apple schedule is extremely erratic, so I don't have particular times that are usually or regularly good for me, but there will reliably be time somewhere since it's part time.

I went to Worcester a number of times this summer, for a potential music director job at the Unity Church of Central Massachusetts. I ended that process before they made a decision, though, when I was offered a place in the All-Saints choir, which is closer and easier for me, and pays just as much. Didn't explore many of the restaurants in the area, though, and haven't been back since August I think...

Okay, Tuesday the 18th around 6ish works for me! I also take 128/95 to work, but I go much farther to Newton. I only work till 4pm though. I would definitely recommend getting off at exit 25B and head into Middleton that way. I live a mile or so away from 114 in Danvers so I'll be going that way too.

Be glad you chose not to have ties to Worcester. It is evil and dirty and should be avoided at all costs! Except for brief respites involving Vietnamese food and particularly good mochas as an indie coffee joint called the Bean Counter ;)

Hehe, well, the church seemed like one of the friendliest places I've ever been. "Unity" church is not the same as "unitarian", but it seemed somewhat along the same lines in being accepting of anyone and everyone. But location was far from ideal for me, and I was offered a position somewhere else that would take up the same time slot (Sunday mornings) so I didn't wait to hear back.

I'll see you on Tuesday. :-)
