So. Last night's episode... dude.
Wow. So, so much to snark. Some points:
-The Casey Gets the Bat scene (I'm sorry, it's just too easy) was really, really wrong, IMO. First off, it was just poorly handled. It went on too long, for one thing - they could have made their point with a lot less, and it probably would have been much more evocative. The way it was shot, it was about two minutes of "::thwack:: Unh. ::thwack:: Uh." I'm not usually a fan of Ominous Violins Signaling a Troubling Scene, but that particular scene could have used *something*. Damn.
-Not to ream poor Casey too badly, but... dude, a softball shirt that says Sex Crimes? They couldn't have at least used "SVU" or something? It just. looked. wrong.
-Also, I sniggered when she mentioned reading the Best Dressed lists. I think that kind of snarks on itself.
-Wtf is up with Mariska's hair? Why, honey, whyyyyy?
-Are Munch and Fin on their honeymoon in the Caribbean or something? I missed the first few minutes of the episode... were they in it at *all*?
Really, I think the sole redeeming point of this entire double episode may have been the handling of the scene where Olivia was talking to the woman who was just figuring out that her father was a rapist. I was absolutely shocked that they didn't go for a tearful "I'm a child of rape too" moment - the anvil stayed perched in the rafters for the whole scene! Go Pot Weasels!
I'm sure I had other thoughts at some point, but they all seem to have slid out of my mucus-filled head. (I'm siiiiick.) Anyone else care to jump in?
