We got stuck in Newry for a bit cuz the losers at the photo shop weren't honouring the 'EXPRESS' photo booth thing. *annoyed* I know they were busy but when it says express, you expect them to do it right? Anyway, while we were waiting, we went and had lunch but on the way to the shop (Subway) I was being molested by a bee (I am NOT a giant flower, kthx) and hubby was no help cuz they'd already crossed by then and I had to wait for the lights. *sulks*
After lunch I stopped at a running store (where they sell marathon stuff - shoes, clothing, training equipment etc.) and got some proper shoes for Japan. Had to do this 'gait analysis' thing and she pointed out to me where my gait was off and why, which was very interesting. Apparently it's not as bad as it could have been so she was encouraged. I got the right shoes anyway cuz I'm more able to walk properly now and after walking for a day and a half, my feet aren't swelling or anything! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!
We went to see the HP movie and it was totally not like I expected it to be. It was still good tho, and the cinema wasn't packed. (yay) Chibi was upset tho - he was like 'why didn't you tell me what happened so I'd be prepared?' (avoiding spoilers for those few who don't know by now LOL) and I was like....would you honestly want me to spoil it for you and he was like YES! *glares at me* *laughs* Funny kid.
Yesterday we were going to go to Tesco's to shop but they open ridiculously late on Sundays from what we're used to so we ended up just...driving around randomly until we saw a sign that said 'Londonderry (Derry) X' (X being the mileage) and hubby was like...you wanna go? And I was like sure, why not? Nothing else to do. LOL So we went to Derry.
Being in a more Republican-friendly area, you could really tell the difference - the city, tho very nice in a lot of ways, was really run-down. An effect of the gov't punishing them for being sympathetic to Sinn Fein, or at least that's how I see it. Everywhere else that is like that is run-down too because of lack of investment by the gov't. *grumbles* Totally a way to get ppl on your side. /sarcasm
Because the shops there were still closed *shakes head* we went to Letterkenny in Donegal instead. *chuckles* So we went to 2 new NI counties (Co. Londonderry and Co. Tyrone, making it so we've been to ALL of them in NI) and 2 new Irish counties (Co. Donegal and Co. Monaghan). Got some stuff in Letterkenny then went back to Derry and got the rest of the stuff at the new Asda store there. My poor car was PACKED. @.@ Chibi couldn't even move.
Drove thru Co. Monaghan to get home (avoiding Newry and the idiots there) and ended up in Ashbourne for dinner at McDo. :/ *still not happy* I wanted Chinese, dammit. *sulks* I texted Carey thru most of dinner out of boredom. LOL It was fun tho. hehehehe
Unfortunately what wasn't fun was that after we left and started back on the road, I got hammered with another bad migraine and had to drug myself up and passed out. :( Really sucked, but we did make it home ok. I chatted with Jenna for a bit then went to bed.
So that's basically how our weekend went. Oh, and we didn't have internet access at Carrickfergus cuz idiot's Vodafone USB thing refuses to work on my netbook (*annoyed*) and the hotel's internet was out of service. *sighs* I ended up using the McDo internet yesterday morning for what I wanted to do while we had breakfast.
