BLOOD, SWEAT and TEARS

Bloggers,

I am now going to go into the Journal: Trails and Tribulations. The remainder of the letter to Sue White of the Saginaw News are excerpts from the Journal and to avoid repeating I'll just post the journal now. This is the last paragraph in Sue White's letter from me:

Well Sue, that’s apart of story that I thought you would at least believe. The rest if your interested is 60 typed written pages long. This other 90% of the story IS unbelievable; I would need to explain a lot.

I wanted my degree and went to all levels no matter how low to get it. I hope to have my degree by the time you mentioned that your story concerning the “what ever it takes” students is to appear in January. This would be a great ending for your story (if there is going to be one, I do expect nothing) and mine.

These 400 level classes are not easy and they take me a lot to comprehend. I don’t know what to expect or how long it’s going to take me to finish these classes but I am going to put in a concerted effort to finish.

What’s real tough is that I have been taking out student loans just for survival money. Like currently, I am in a room that cost me $300 a month and all I bring in is $231.00 in disability a month. I have been losing money every month I go to college for a long time now. I’m in dept over $30,000.00 to the Student Loan Department as of now. But really giving it some thought, you know that’s really not that bad considering it has kept me going for better than a decade.

I know your looking at what it takes for some to get through college but I had to write about other aspects, the frustrations that got in the way of my college goal. I know it’s impossible for all of this to be printed or maybe even any of it to be but I wanted someone, you to know the whole story, and really this is only 10%.

I have been looking for an avenue of some sort to get this story out for a long time. Let me guarantee you that the included aspects are again in no comparison to the ones I left out. That is a part of the story I’m really looking forward to exposing, I wrote to you what I thought you would believe. The rest would need some explanation.
It’s been quite a journey.

Sincerely,

Lee J. Reardon
