stayed up late browsing through pages of winamp previews. as the pictures slowly loaded through dial-up sludge i knew i didn't really NEED charisma carpenter stretching seductively across my winamp or motley crue rocking out on it, but i DID need the megaman getting drunk of Energy Capsules and motorhead logo, so i might as well just dowload any i liked. i also keep opening up stuff in adobe shop, planning to fix one thing and then notice 34 things that could use a little touch of the eraser or brush. If i wasn't looking at the images at 500% i probably wouldn't notice as much of it. I'm going to make myself stay away from the net and photoshop for a few days to get some more offline drawing and reading done...perhaps. i've got some firewood to stack tomorrow if it's not raining and I'll still be using my computer in my room to play super nintendo emulators and listen to mp3s. The ranma 1/2 RPG is awesome and the attacks and characters are hyper true to the anime but it freezes up every couple of battles. at least it's still more playable than the one i had in japanese. i play it for about 10 minutes every day until it glitches and then try again the next day, so i basicaly travel about 3 fights into the game each time. might finish it by august...i'm also playing a tetris attack style game with kunio characters. the artwork of the game is perfection and i'm definatley going to use it for something if i can get the screen capture option to work. I'm also playing advance wars again. so addictive. i forced myself to save it last night because i was getting too tired to order my troops most effectively AND i wanted to be fully awake to enjoy the moment when i got the upper hand and victory ensued. i usually play this game or a week or two before re-realizing that no matter how good i do in it, it achieves me nothing in the actual world, but it is perfect to accompany drinking coffee and watching the office or judge judy.
yesterday i also found myself listening to catch 22 and whistling while reading livejournal and using adobe shop. Sadly, my brother wasn't here and a great "Yay, it's fun to be Lucas, really, it is..." was completely wasted.
"I say it's time to teach Jenny a lesson, who's with me?"
i'll probably color the above later.
after spending a long time paint filling this mayor meanswell, i think i like it better black and white. i could have fixed the giant hand while i was at it, but decided to leave it as a symbol of his power over lazytown. also can't help but think of Jerry on The Job...
this will make no sense if you don't do yourself a favor and check out
http://www.lileks.com/comics/jerry/index.html long live the flip-take...here's a parody of both the comic and the commentary.
Here we have the progeny of good old Jerry. Little billy, a modern day child of 2006. It is no longer socially acceptable for a kid so young to work instead of going to school. Maybe Skippy can better himself. Like most schools these days, there is security to keep out the pedophiles, drugs, and guns. This is little defense against Skippy's odd genetic talent...
Oh Skippy, why can't you just buckle down, do your work, and behave? Here we find him slacking off. Note the raw power of his wacky excuse.
Not only has his response knocked the poor teacher over, he snapped her chair and broke the damn frame of the cartoon with her head! Note how his explosive capabilities defy all laws of physics...her right eye rips from her head and stays hovering in place yet the pencil turns 210 degrees and blasts away, no doubt to attain a low earth orbit. Additionally, his dark magiks caused the apple to be eaten, the desk to crack, and (though not clearly visible) the grade on the paper to DROP from an A+ to a C minus! Beware Skippy in the school!!!
i might do a strip about how skippy/billy came to be. Jerry died a virgin*, yet has several sons, but i have a perfect explanation for this anomaly.
*(any ladies that could get past the fact he was a short, shifty, train station urchin all his life were violently knocked from his bed from one ridiculous comment or another and he never learned to keep his mouth shut)
