show and tell

the treehouse is coming along nicely. all the walls are done inside and ready for painting. i'm going to paint everything except for over the drawings/paintings already there and the window trim. I'm thinking somewhere between dark and primary blue. The ceiling is going to be installed last, prepainted white metal panels. it should reflect sun and lamp light well and it will make a good surface for mounting circuit boards and hooks to hang lego ships from.i may use the green carpet that was up there or get a large area rug since i'm going to paint the floor also.

leftover paneling from our kitchen, metal keno sign and the bulletin board is gonna cover the other space. the roof tapers to this wall, and it's probably only about 6'5" back there so i think most of it will be covered buy the stereo cabinet in front and whatever else i wind up putting in the right corner

this is the wall i really pieced together. i needed to put that piece across the middle to help hold everything flat and together. after it's painted and there are posters and signs hung up i don't even think it will look so patchy. i actually like the way it looks now, but i might as well paint everything while it's mostly empty. I'm trying to catch up on the other stuff i don't feel like doing until i get paint and some steady dry warmer weather to use it in. i replaced some shingles and covered holes in the edge of the roof and today i spent way too long putting up a half ass brace on the corner of the roof.

scrappy is still looking cute and enjoying her new home. this week she demonstrated her high jump abilities and comedy skills. a few hours after i vacuumed up all the hair she shed on my rug, she chewed her rawhide into about 40 pieces. Hilarious. I cleaned that up so the next morning she came in and vomited up her breakfast. So bloody funny, comedic genius.

some rough cartoon sketches i have yet to do a final version of. they almost as long to scan and crop as to conceive and draw, that can't be good. the others i have done are worse and you kinda gotta be a star trek next gen nerd to even catch.

i really want some more coffee right now but i think i'll wait and get up extra early tomorrow and drink it first thing.

Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time is one of my favorite albums. i believe it is also the album i have the most copies of...as follows: on record and tape in the treehouse, on cd, record and tape in my bedroom, on tape at the skatepark. i also remember giving another copy of the record i had to caroline. i don't think i bought any of them. as was stated on iron maiden's self titled album before bruce dickinson entered the picture: "iron maiden can't be fought, iron maiden can't be sought." so, to recap, iron maiden can't be fought, sought, or bought...it just seeks you out to enrich your day. help it, welcome it.
