Spring is going pretty well so far. The weather has been a bit up an down but hasn't kept me from rafting, yardsaling, and reading outside. I just got some more speakers for 25 cents this weekend to add a bit of surround to my sound on the computer set up in my house. I think I'm going to sleep in here and in a tent until the new poles are under the treehouse. I've been collecting weeds and making nutritious salads that are more palatable than I was expecting. Even just collecting and cleaning the stuff seems to be taking a bit of time and discourages me from starting a real garden, although I am going to grow tomatoes. The weeds are better because they grow fast and everywhere and don't need to be coddled with things like water and sunlight.

wild ingredients: dead nettle, dandelion, plantains, clover, cattail
store bought: mushroom, tomato, cheese, italian dressing, crushed crackers, imitation bacon bits
everything raw except for the dandelion which I boiled for about 3 minutes.
plantains a bit tougher than lettuce but letting it sit for a bit after I put the dressing on seemed to do the trick.
today I'm going to look for Purslane. Just about every weed I come across online is edible and all over my dad's property. I've got some grass to mow and some brush to clean up. at the rate i'm going now i won't even have a chance to read some comics before i go feed the horses this morning. think i'll skip breakfast as usual. need to fold my laundry and call josh back.
this is how much body my hair has when I haven't washed it in two days and freshly slept on. pic taken around 6 am. it's about perfect now but i usually get sick of it and shave it all off for comfort when it's hot. maybe i can just get it trimmed up this time. soon i could prob put it in a pontail but that would still be hot and i'd lose the feral appearance i enjoy so much now. if you see me walking towards you looking like this with a lime green lighthouse sweater on and train conductor cap, don;t be afraid, i'm not homicidal, just penurious.
