lands of magic 'friendsgiving' challenge
This is for the @lands-of-magic 'friendsgiving' challenge, where you choose up to 8 characters to spend the holiday with and explain why they're there/what they bring. I made mine a very superhero (and superhero adjacent) one! :D
Name: Martha Kent
Fandom: Smallville
What they brought: the turkey
Why they're there: She's a great cook and knows how to handle the kitchen. I'm vegetarian so she can handle the turkey for the people who like that and I would totally be in charge of things that are more vegetarian friendly. Plus, she's a calming presence.
Name: Clark Kent
Fandom: Smallville
What they brought: mashed potatoes
Why they're there: If I set something on fire, who better to save the day than Superman? Also if Martha is there, Clark will be too. He has to have picked up some cooking skills from his parents (and we know he's probably in charge in the Lane-Kent household).
Name: Lois Lane
Fandom: Smallville
What they brought: cornbread muffins
Why they're there: Have to complete the family! Plus, I just love her and she's just talkative in a way that will keep the conversation going. She hasn't always been the best cook but her muffins have significantly improved so she can be in charge of that.
Name: M'Baku
Fandom: Black Panther/MCU
What they brought: green bean casserole
Why they're there: Not only would he be a fun presence at dinner, I will have another vegetarian to keep me company. If he figures out/knows that Clark is Superman, you know he will try to arm wrestle him too.
Name: Diana/Wonder Woman
Fandom: DCEU
What they brought: a bottle of wine
Why they're there: It is a superhero Thanksgiving! Either I'll be very safe or very much in danger. Diana is lovely though. She's charming, charismatic, and could definitely stand to be around a few more friends. Also, she and M'Baku would probably get along and would have a conversation about their isolated homes (even if Wakanda isn't anymore) and sharing of cultures.

What they brought: mac and cheese
Why they're there: Because Diana is! No, really, though, again, he is a relaxed person so I can continue to keep this Thanksgiving as drama free as possible (unless the villains find out, of course). Besides, he might be someone else who draws Bucky out, because hey, they're both men out of time.
Name: Sam Wilson
Fandom: MCU
What they brought: mashed potatoes
Why they're there: Sam is warm and easygoing and knows how to get along with all types of people. He would be right at home with this group (and I'm sure he knows M'Baku already). Would there be a political debate at some point? Yes, but that is unavoidable anyway. I think it should be mostly peaceful.

Fandom: MCU
What they brought: pumpkin pie
Why they're there: Let's be real: there's no chance Bucky trusts me anyway with Sam so he'd be lurking somewhere so he might as well hang out too. He's on the quieter side but I think that would be a good balance with the rest. It's just safe to let him bring store bought pumpkin pie though.
