Today, quite an unusual situation happened to me. I got stuck on an elevator for around 20 minutes.
I got a class on the 9th floor, and as usual I got into the elevator to go there. there's one guy and three other girls on that elevator with me. One girl went to the 3rd floor, the other girls were going to 9th floor like me, and the guy wanted to go to 5th floor. it started normal, one girl got out on the 3rd floor and the elevator was going up. and it happened on the 5th floor. the guy wanted to go out but the elevator door won't open. he pressed the door button, and it won't open. okay, I thought, this isn't happening right? the guy tried to pressed the button again.... the door didn't budged. and we're officially trapped in an elevator.
But I still think we're going to be out of that elevator in 5 minutes, just press the emergency button and people will save us. Good news! that guy pressed the emergency button and no one answered. okay, time to call my friend. I got my cell phone out and the battery's dead, what a perfect time! I immediately thought, thank god I'm trapped with three other people, and their phone work, yay! the guy tried to press the emergency button again and still no answers. and we waited for help while trying other things. the guy tried to open the panel box by prying (thanks L for pointing me this word) it with a key, and it won't open. I saw a key hole, so I said "can you pick that key?" and gave him my broach. It can't be pick. the other girls started to panic and squat on the corner of the elevator.
And then, me and that guy tried to open the elevator door using our hands, it only opened a little, just a crack. but I saw the floor. The elevator floor were about 20 cm below the floor of the 5th floor. Good! at least we're not in between floors. The light is still on and I can still feel the air flowing, so, we have light and air supply. then, I heard the two girls started sobbing. "we're panicked" they say. and we're not?, but I didn't said that out loud :P
I said, "don't panic, we'll be okay".
we already trapped for around 15 minutes and few minutes later the technician pried the door open with a crowbar and lots of people waiting in front of the elevator door. at last! fresh air~
on my way to class, I saw those girls with their friend. one of them saw me and said "she's so calm, are you use to being trap in an elevator?" do I look like I have a hobby of being trapped in an elevator? "no, this is my first time" I said. But, after a second thought, I should've scratch that answer. I've once trapped alone in the elevator at my office for around 5 minutes. hmm... maybe I could sign a contract with Hollywood specializing in elevator malfunction scene? :D
Have a great holiday everyone!!!!
blablabla,
it's life
