There is no such thing as normal working days, alas! Life likes to intrude whenever it can, and since a freelancer's schedule is flexible, I end up working all sorts of weird hours. I try to put in at least 10-12 hours of work a day, but when the deadline is close it's more like 18-20. I do have days when I do no art, but just try to take care of all the other things--updating, e-mailing, grocery shopping, family and friends time, trying to fight back the chaos on my desk, etc.
Bento Comics is a project with friends and one I contribute to only very randomly, so it's not too time consuming. I'd say the stories I've put up there probably took me about a week and a half in total to complete over the course of a year, so it's time that I was able to steal here and there :D
I relax by reading a nice book, watching a good movie, or hang out with close friends in small groups! I also really like bus and train rides for that.
I guess it was both hard and not to find an agent, in some sense... When I first reserached the issue, I couldn't find where to even speak with one, let alone try for representation. After Dramacon was published and successful, several publishers were interested in my next project, so one of them recommended I try to contact an agent to handle that situation. I was given some names, I called the first one on the list and it was Judy Hansen, who is ten kinds of awesome. She took a look at my work, kindly agreed to represent me and I've been in her care ever since!
