I wouldn't say that most of the points were bad in the article... I think the last one was the only one that I was a bit wary about. As for the rest, I think it can be summed up in "go into marriage with open eyes". Just about all of the things listed are things that you should know before spending the rest of your life with someone. Most of the troubles I have seen between couples have been because of finding out something much later in the relationship... He/She didn't change, you just now bothered to find out about it.
I probably sound bitter... heh.. sorry about that...
BTW, you should go see this Star Wars film in the theaters... it makes up for the crappy previous two... it delivers the goods and it is the one we have been waiting for... and dare I say it carries emotion AND has the most action of all of the films?
I'll second that! I LOVED the third one.:D but I blamed my dislike of "Phantom" on the fact that I worked in a video store that kept it on continuous loop from basically March to Aug the year it came out... and I worked 8 hour shifts EVERY DAY of that time period!!! Maybe it reallly WAS that bad?
Don't you people tempt me XD I have a book to finish!! The general consensus does seem to be that the new movie is not as terrible as teh other two, though. Damnit... I'll see if I can sneak away before it ends >.>
About points--oh I didn't find any of them bad! Just off-topic. If I was asking for advice from lawyers and accountants, the last thing I would expect to hear is "Do you snore?" LOL
Oh!!! it was so good.... a friend who came with me to the premier said she was only coming to see the lightsaber battles, but she ended up crying through most of it... and the lightsaber battles kicked butt bigger than anything too. :)
The snoring thing... hmmm... if you don't get a decent night's sleep because of the snorgle weezing of your loved one, it can cause stress... and stress leads to anger.... anger leads to hate... hate leads to suffering... :) Even Yoda is concerned. ;)
Smart!! I was so surprised about that though--does this stand true for any expensive gift, then? Say, if someone were to gift me with a car (yeah, right. *keeps dreaming*), would I have to pay tax on that?
Practical, yes. But what's a "Do you snore?" question doing on that list?! How is _that_ a financial concern? ...Unless they are talking therapy bills, heh.
"puts on official civil servants mind" It's clear if only one of the two snores, he/she keeps the other awake. This leads to the other party not being fully awake at work, making him lose job and income. QED. I dare you to try say that straight faced to a fellow countryman and believe me this is one that's sounds plausible. I've had to say worse excuses to users.
Hmmmm... What happens when it's a family heirloom? My engagement ring belonged to my finacee's grandmother, which came from her grandmother... for as far back as we can trace the blasted thing. ;) LOL good luck FINDING a recipt for it! LMAO it's OLDER THAN CANADA!!!
Heeeeeee.... XD
Glad to see you're still alive.. and dare I ask just how many MINUTES passed between frames in the comic? :D
She was actually mentioning it to him for a while now, I just simplified it for comedy's sake. It's just funny how he suddenly came back with NO HAIR. LOL ...Well, _some_ hair. It's a really cute haircut, but my Mom is still giggling at the whole thing, since the change was so drastic.
The title of the article says it all "...Lawyers and Accountants".
As a satellite engineer, I have no choice but to organize my work into checklists and estimates of risk. Careful planning well in advance of any activity is another necessity.
None of that applies to Beth. I would have walked away if she'd been a substance abuser, a bully or a violent felon. But did I then apply 10,000 little piddly requirements and standards to her? HELL NO!Ouch Ouch, someday at some time you might get stuck with a big tax bill. WHAT HORROR! And if you're careful never to put yourself at risk for known tax traps, what do you do when the legislature changes the tax code to make up for the current deficit? Accountants and Lawyers are paid to avoid taxes, it's part of their job. Should it stand between you and a Love
( ... )
Not at all! :D That's why I offer the perfect solution--cheapie engagement ring for me. W00t! I'm very practical, personally, I can't help it. Something as serious as marriage I'll plan to death. But that doesn't mean this list will scare me into never ever loving ;D I'll just make certain adjustments and play it by ear. Yay!
Sorry to hear about teh divorce :( But... You and Beth--awesome!! \^o^/ I wish you guys all the very best.
