thank God she used the Periwinkle flower and not the snail :) I was actually nicknamed in first grade because we use periwinkle snails for bait in coastal Maine and the boys thought it was funny to call me that. They were severely disappointed to find out it was also a flower

I have plenty of periwinkles in my garden this year! And though the "bigorneaux" are tasty, I prefer the "pervenches"...
