okay, here's my long overdue update.
Last day of school happened already and except for a couple godawful regentses, i'm free for the summer! i didn't think i'd live to see the day; just think about it: Svetlana Zaitseva, died unexpectedly of a brain annurism, cause of death: too much studying! sounds plausible, right? i mean w. all those aps--3 whole ap exams that i had to do well on--it was pretty harsh. and SAT II which i so didn't study for and now the bloody physics regents which i've had a grand total of like a week to prepare for! insane right? (Ms. Marshall is going to be the death of me)
So, as for the actual day. actually i'll talk abt the whole last week. Monday...idk i think that was when i went to talk to marshall and levik and my guidance councellor. i don't think i've talked to Ms. Presner that much all year! well i got things straightened out and i remembered to hand in my community service card. all those hours at EMS [Emergency Medical Service] Dept. have to pay off somehow right?
So Monday was the dreadful day that i was informed that i should take the phys regents in june. according to ms. marshall i have enough "science background" not to have any trouble. since when does bio and chem and earth science have anything to do w/ phyisics for christ's sake???
well anyway, after that i was all in panic. i madly whipped out my physics regents review book --which i have been carrying around with me as if were my bible for the last two weeks, abiet not actually reading it--and tried to read its precious pages of physics.
except how can one study--i know even i can't--with all those seniors milling about and shedding tears at the first instigation? so it was all largely fruitless work and most periods i ended up relinquishing the physics book for yet another graduate's yearbook. i was actually surprised at how many seniors i knew. i signed so many yearbooks and i even baffled myself when i wrote nearly a page in a number of pple's books. i am known to write "novels" according to ms. Langrover and a number of my other english--and other--teachers.
so the last day epitomised the do-nothing spirit of the end of the ear and i don't think i did anything at all in any of my classes. [and we didn't need to present for english!!!! woot woot!!!]
honestly, i think this year's seniors are crazier than ever. the fire drills, the smoke bomb...all the crap all over the school--made it look like a tornado went through
so anyway my outline of the day.
pre 1st period: massive "locker hangout" sinc we don't really have lockers anymore, we just stood in a crowd and took lots of pics. i'm gonna miss those 7am locker mobs--i mean everyone used to come down there. first it'd be like irina's, mine, nicole z's and jen's locker. and then meg, jinny and lyshus started coming over. and then kris randke would stop by and brianne and laura. then when the bell would ring we would finally decided to actually go to class. we'd follow around the square and meet mia neva and andrea at their lockers although andrea was late! all the time lol. and then we'd finally proceed, in mob like fashion to ap us. it was great.
1st period: we took even more pictures and just talked i guess. me and andrea figured out we had the same flip flops in different colors lol. and like everyone brought a camera--exept me of course. but oh well. i'll get the pics on line from cool pple who have digital cameras lol
2nd: calc--went to abt half that class--so i almost cut --MEG-- i just went in and then left, i said i needed to see my guidance councellor or something like that. idk y now. then i met andrea on the way and we went. then i just went back to the library with her. all the regulars were there--andrea, mia, meg, lyshus, and someone else, i forgot. then mike carley came in and he didn't really have a table to sit in so i told him to join us. [that made 6 pple at the table! ooo the librarian almost had a fit lamo but we didn't move] and lucky it was, because we were unexpectadly graced w/ a hillarious account of mike carley's work experience at Island 16--all i can tell u is that i'm never going there and if i absolutely have to, i'm staying away from the garbage compactor lmao
3rd: wind ensemble, one of the fun periods of the day. i got a few last seniors to sign my yearbook, had bagels! [schaar's awesome like that] and we were even treated to a firedrill! lmao. actually it was a real thing! and we got to see all the fire engines come and they just stood around and delt w/ the much spoken of smoke bomb. then were were further treated to a wholesome lecture by ms abrams. i think she has a prewritten speach or something. cuz she says the same exact thing every time. it gets old.
4th: gym--shortened thanx to the fire drill :) nearly died of boredom there while the coaches handed out the awards--none of which i got!!! :_( damn mile! i suck at running lol. oh and hear this. on monday i went to ask alvino if i needed to make up gym classes cuz i got that note that says i missed 4 classes. and guess what. he yelled at me!!! can you believe it? He's like "this isn't for u, it's for the pple who cut for no good reason, you have good excuses...arg arg arg...don't even think about it" so yeah...
5th bio: of course, did nothing, talked to a few seniors, saw a bunch of them hug and cry and that whole bit. tried to focus on physics and settled for writing an entire page for crystal DaSilva's yearbook--she ran outa room so got to write on rainbow paper! lol.
6th: lunch or something like it. i honestly don't remember what happened. andrea was there though so it's okay.
7th: french: my god!!! no words to describe. for once in our lives we didn't sit in that semicicle. the seniors gave him a scrapbook--it really was a piece of work, must have taken them a while. and of course some great, unforgettable quotes by Mr. B were prevelent throughout the entire thing--definately worth a look. [deep breath lmao andrea]oh and we went to ap lit in the begining of the period
8th: heros in lit? i think i just sat and read physics, wait no, or watched the ninja turtles. w/ all the fire drills i'm surprised we finished it. funny movie. and i was definately late again cuz i was w. andrea saying goodbye to seniors.
9th: Ms. Langrover's class: english did absolutely nothing. we got there like ten mintutes late though i think cuz we were finalizing our beach going plans, which didn't work out anyway :( lol. and then we spent the period doing nothing. and our group didn't have to present!! woot woot. i think we have a few more group pics. and we definately just walked around before class lol.
afterschool: i stayed after,--i think it's the only time i ever stayed after on the last day-- for TENNIS!! it was a very momentous occasion even tho there weren't too many pple and they were all younger and me & irina were the only new pple. but it was exciting in itself. i'm finally doing something for me...which feels good. i've always wanted to do a sport, it gives you an odd sense of pride almost like nothing else in the school can. and it's fun! all this provided i make the team of course. wouldn't it suck if i didn't? i would so cry. anyway, the coach, or the assisstant coach acctually, is wonderful. he's such a cool guy and he redid the wrap on the grip of my tennis racket on the first day of practice which makes him 10 times cooler. the grip was blue and it made all my hands turn blue from it...not pleasant. now it's green for a total watermellon effect of the entire racket. [the rest is green]
then i went to lit mag party and had 2 slices of pizza! ouch, a fact i regretted later when i went home and vegged out. so w/ a promise to be an active participant next yr, i left the club. [i was MIA--the invisible enditor--the entire yr along w. everyone else lol]
then i went home and thought about how i made it thru junior year. i survived, that's all that matters lol. and next year--4 aps, college aps, tennis!--well we'll deal with it when it comes...
