Saturday night...
He went as Duff Man and I went as a St Patrick's Day "leprechaun" (hard to pull this off at 5'9"). He won for Best Costume and for Best Duo Pumpkin Carving. I was surprised. He doesn't enter contests. Although, he doesn't walk around with his underwear on the outside either.
There were a lot of really great costumes, and then of course, the lame ones. Of the great costumes, we had Ricky and Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys and a taxi cab. Of the lame, well... there was the angel, the devil, the flapper girls, the cop, the thief, the catwoman and the witches. No nurse or maid though! I think they're lame only because you're guaranteed to see them every year, everywhere. Maybe then I should refer to them as "The Classics" but nah.
We thought it was funny when Duff Man and his Bull Riding friend won the pumpkin carving contest, seen as they carved it in 15 seconds (or less) and they left the carving knife stuck in the "forehead" of the pumpkin.
Maybe that's why they won.
